An odd bit of off-season hype from MLB:

 

Best baseball player born each year, since 1847

 

I'll take the 1935 crop, thank you.  Bob Gibson and Sandy Koufax aren't #1 in that year because of Frank Robinson.  Or 1934, where Roberto Clemente and Al Kaline aren't #1 because of Hank Aaron.  And 1947 with the greatest crop of catchers ever (Johnny Bench, Carlton Fisk, Thurman Munson) eclipsed by Nolan Ryan.

I knew about Shocker, though I've always wondered if he had a sibling named Rural.
