Kansas City has to be watching this game with a great deal of interest, because if Cincinnati holds on, then the Chefs will host the AFC Championship for, what, the fifth consecutive year?

Oh, there's another field goal for the Bengals. Buffalo is now down three scores in the 4th quarter. I don't know if the fat lady is singing yet, but I feel like she's warming up in the wings.

Watching the snow fall is nice, tho.

The fact that I'm something like 2000 miles away might be a small factor in that...

3 score game with 11 to play.  Not entirely over but yeah, you kinda wonder if all their emotion was spent before this game even started.

Chiefs fans are overjoyed.  Dunno how they were handling ticket sales, but ya kinda figure they're gonna  go REAL quick.  Mr. P beat me to this...

Last point...if Mahomes' mobility is impaired, wow.  This is inviting back to back SB trips.

EDIT:  UGHHHhhhh...the 2 Bills DBs that cracked heads unintentionally are both in the locker room.  This matchup is jinxed.

And the game is put to bed with a Cincinnati interception inside the five yard line, followed by multiple Bengals defenders making snow angels in the end zone.

Cincinnati 27, Buffalo 10

Not at all what I was expecting from this game. Gonna be a long off-season in Bills Country.

HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

heheheheheheheheheheheheeeee

1.  McCarthy gets outcoached.  Again.

2.  Don't even TRY to say the running game doesn't matter in the NFL of today.  Both of the games today proved that beyond any reasonable doubt.

3.  Can there be any doubt that Brock Purdy goes into next season as the presumed #1?

And that last play was a farce.  IOW...a McCarthy.

EDIT:

4.  Grabbing McCaffrey was the single biggest move of the year.

Did anyone else catch Greg Olsen's comment about Dak, pretty late in the game?  How in key, pressure situations, the numbers were something like 15 points LOWER than average, or something like that.  There was another comment earlier, too, in a similar vein...something like whether the Cowboys need to consider moving past Dak.

And Dak is getting a LOT of flak for his game.  The TD drive, he was 7 for 7 for 41 yards...not very efficient but worked in the end.  The rest?  16 for 30 for about 160, with 2 picks.  BAD.  Granted, the Pollard injury hurt, but Dak has to step up when Pollard goes down.  The Cowboy defense was stubborn, but they also couldn't force a turnover;  the fumble was on special teams.  That's key;  Dallas led the league in forced fumbles and fumbles recovered, and were near the top in INTs.  The Cowboys had, what, 1 chunk play?  The great catch by Lamb while he was being grabbed repeatedly by the DB.  That got them...nothing, as they went 3 and out after that.  If that play is taken out, the Cowboys ran 59 plays for 236 yards...4 yards per play.  That ain't gonna cut it.

To be sure, lots of credit to the Niner defense, which is among the best in the league.  Still, it's a bad performance.  The Cowboys have a LOT of questions to address, still.

EARLY!!! lines are Eagles -2.5, Chiefs -1.  The latter in particular may move, depending on the status of Mahomes' ankle.

Classic Cowboy clock management strikes again.  They take WAY!!! too long to get the punt off;  Niners take over with 2:05.

To make it worse, that lets Shanahan make a great play call...quick slant to Kittle off a play fake.  First down, and there goes the 2 minute warning.

Elijah Mitchell tried to return the favor by running for a 1st down and going out of bounds instead of just dropping to the ground in bounds. It ended up not mattering, but still, that's the kind of mental error that won't play well against tougher opponents.

So who wins now ?

The 49ers have a storied history in the Superbowl. 5 wins.

The Chiefs have 2. The Eagles 1 and the Bengals have none.

I would like the Eagles to win against the 49ers. Gives them a second chance for the win.

But the Bengals might want the 49ers as third time lucky.

The one downside with the 49ers is that Mightybec may rear his head. He is a fan.
