Tedology
Hello all, As a GM, I have created a siren-type NPC who has a fully invisible EGO drain only vs. men. I'm curious - what would the male heroes feel (if anything)? Would they feel just more susceptible to suggestions or would they not feel anything until she uses one of her mental powers on them? Thank you!
Christopher R Taylor
They shouldn't feel anything directly related to the power, but should notice over time that its having an effect: why does this woman seem so compelling? its like I've lost my mind or something... LoneWolf
Invisible power effects only conceal the activity, source, path target, special effect and intensity. It does not ever conceal the target effect or the source effect (if any). The target effect is the effect of the power on the target. So, the target would know his ego is being drained, but would not know who is doing it or how. Joe Walsh and Tedology
Christopher R Taylor
If I am reading the rules correctly, you can (with GM permission) buy powers that the target is not aware of taking place as well. Quote For a +¼ Advantage, a character can make the Target Effect of any Power Inobvious to the target himself (but not other characters). This means the target won’t know he’s hurt (or otherwise affected) unless he succeeds with a PER Roll (for example, he won’t know he’s losing STUN or BODY, but he’ll still suffer Stunning, Knockout, Knockdown/Knockback, or death). For an additional +¼ Advantage (+½ total), a character can make the Target Effect of a Power “invisible” (imperceivable) to the target (but not to other characters). So its expensive, but possible to make the power "illusionary" in a sense, cloaking its entire effect to the target (and to the outside world if bought right). LoneWolf
The extra advantage would make it so that the target of the drain does not realize that they are being affected, but someone else would notice. Tedology
Tedology
Thank you all for taking the time to help me understand this better!
steriaca
Basically they feel slightly light headed. A bit dizzy. They can't directly point to the villain and say "your the cause" of course.
