Sometimes...but quite often, not true at all. Most of the time, there are so many middle men that if prices change $1, the final retailers will see at most one penny of this change. At the same time, us consumers will be paying the total bill not knowing where the money is actually going and make the assumption that those "poor" retailers that we shop at are totally responsible for everything. I'll keep that formula for making your own when I need it again in a year. I do like to make stuff like that, I just don't cook much.
