dan2448
I thought I'd also add that, looking at the proposed 'roster' for Book 2, I'd personally be most interested in Gargoyle (as I already have stats for Dr. Arcane, Lady Arcane and Giant in my existing League of Champions supplement from 2021). I'd also definitely be interested in Champions stats for Eternity Smith. I really liked that character concept, as well as the Rick Hoberg art in the early issues. My distant memory is that one of those early issues from the 1980s had a full page of illustrations of all of the various gadgets in his special, futuristic suit, with descriptions of each. Reviewing this thread again quickly just now, I thought I'd add that I would also be very interested in Champions stats for Icestar's arch-nemesis (and girlfriend?) Madame Syn (sp?) It's still nice to ask Henry and Audry Vogel also, as they created the Southern Knights characters. Get the creators' ok, get Dennis' ok, then we can talk shop. dan2448
I am so appreciative that you are doing this project! I feel like there are two potential audiences: (1) those who played/enjoyed Champions before 3e, circa 1981-1985, for whom the 'Guardians' heroes (and 'villains' like Foxbat) made regular appearances in the (intermittently published) RPG books and Adventurers Club magazine in that time period, and (2) those who didn't play the Champions RPG, but who've enjoyed Dennis Mallonee's comic books over the decades, starting in 1986. In 1986-87, the two were still closely linked. After that, less so. As someone who originally bought the 1986 comic books as a teenager because of the RPG, while the direction that the comic books have taken over the subsequent 35+ years hasn't always been to my personal taste (maybe, most notably, the recurring theme of body shifting/transformation/gender bending), I feel like the fact that the comic books have continued to be published to this day is, in many respects, a remarkable achievement of perseverance, and, quite likely, an indication that there is an enduring market for material that may not always be something I would personally prefer. As I had also written before, when I once sent Dennis Mallonee an email about this issue, he replied very promptly and professionally, if not apologetically, which impressed me at the time and which has left me with a lingering, positive, professional impression of him/Heroic Publishing, even if we might not have a 'meeting of the minds' on this point. With that said, as these additional supplements are written/published, I myself, as someone who purchased the original League of Champions PDF, am much more interested in the characters that link back to the 2e Champions RPG and/or the earliest days of Dennis Mallonee's comic book efforts/vision in the mid/late 1980s, and less so the subsequent 'Sensational G Girl' et seq aspect/Heroic Publishing Universe. dan2448
Another aspect of Heroic Publishing that I discovered over time was that I had to be vigilant to understand what I was buying when new issues were published. Frequently some (or even nearly all) of the content might be reprints of previously published work. As I mentioned above, I am very impressed that Dennis Mallonee has been able to publish comic books originally nspired by these Champions RPG characters for nearly 40 years now, and this 'reprint' aspect is likely one way that he's been able to do so. But as a fan, I have also learned that it is my obligation ('caveat emptor') to understand what is being published/sold that is new, and what is 'old rope'... Spence
Just saw this thread. Is this to be an organization book only? Or an Org book plus playable supers campaign?
Stanley Teriaca
29 minutes ago, Spence said: Just saw this thread. Is this to be an organization book only? Or an Org book plus playable supers campaign? Right now, neither. It's a book with 6ed stats for many of the hero characters seen in the League of Champions comic book series and related comics (Flair mostly, but not only). They assume your a reader of the now POD comic book series, and this already familiar with Dennise's world. And also...unless there are drastic changes don't expect stats on the villains who both Dennis and Hero Games has (they both have a version of Over after all) Villains have there own book: League of Enimies. Coming soon to Tiger Paw Press. Spence

tiger
I realized I missed a few and need a bit of clarification. We plan on keeping the page count close to that of the League of Champions, roughly 80. So... These will be in the book for sure Demonfire, Esper, Incredible Ogre, Madame Synn, Radar, Red Rapier, Sonar possibly if there is room. Brother Basilisk, Eraserhead, Cybernotron, Flying Fox, Power Pulse, Sylvia
Stanley Teriaca
Can't we just use 6ed Ogre and Pulsar instead? What does Incredible Ogre do what Ogre doesn't? Or in other words, "we have Ogre at home".
