Asperion
Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... I am finishing up re-reading The Dammed series by Alan Dean Foster. This is a unique view of interstellar societies. One strange thing is that humans are not central to the advancement of the society that they are included in. (I will not say member of since they never formally join the society in the thousand-plus years the series covers). The master plot is essentially a communist society at war with a socialist society (that includes humans). In addition there are several other subplots with different characters and species in both societies that adds to the depth and makes everyone very enjoyable. Enforcer84
Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... The Terror by Dan Simon. A historical-horror novel about "Franklin's lost expedition' date='" a voyage to the Arctic to find the Northwest Passage by HMS [i']Erebus[/i] and HMS Terror under Captain Sir John Franklin in 1845-1848. A very good read. Dan Simon? Anyone we Know?

I like a little warning before the setting breaks if you know what I mean. CES Night world is the last book in the universe (aside from some loose ties to his Scifi stuff), so the author really lets things happen. Haven't picked it up yet' date=' but it's on my list. My wife got me into Witchblade, which I always thought would've been a weak title, but I've been pleasantly surprised so far.[/quote'] Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I am torn. I liked parts, hated others. I had picked up one or two of the original run of Comics, and it is nice to know what was really going on, but I still hate it when innocents are murdered. I got it from the Library, so no money in it. I recently read "The Way of Shadows" I liked it, but for similar reasons HATED parts of it. In the back there are some questions and answers by the author, he discusses where the background came from...

Lord Mhoram
Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... I've read Twilight and about 2/3 of the way through New Moon. Pretty decent. A nice light read, and interesting takes on Werewolves (her descriptions of the change is among the best I've read). For all the mocking the stuff gets for Sparkly Vampires, it's actually pretty good.
Clonus
Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... Swallowing Darkness by Laurell Hamilton: Actually a lot better than her stories have recently been. Because it's the wrap-up of the Meredith Gentry series, it actually has plot instead of just sex and talking about sex.

While I wait for Turn Coat, I'll read Mean Streets, an urban fantasy collection, featuring "The Warrior" and new Dresden short-story.
