"Solar Systems: Ours and Others", an astronomy-based course for nonscience students.  It includes discussion on the origins of life on Earth and by extension elsewhere, and how you might look for it (both on Mars, Titan, Europa, etc., and on planets orbiting other stars).

Blundered across a page where I was brainstorming snarky tag-lines for a Star Wars character who was the party medic.

  • Rub a little dirt on it!
  • Shut up and take your medicine.
  • This'll hurt a lot less if you cooperate.
  • Trust me, I'm a doctor.  Well, actually not, but trust me anyway.
  • You didn't need that anyway.
  • Tell me where it hurts.  Besides the obvious, that is.
  • There's no pill that cures the stupids!
  • You didn't need that anyway.
  • Medicinal whiskey, dammit!
  • I ain't no ----ing nurse.
  • I didn't think your species had that organ!
  • Take this and call me in the morning.
  • Pee in your own damn cup!
  • You don't need surgery.  You need to shut up.
  • The Surgeon General can go kiss a jawa's butt.
  • It's called triage.
  • I can't fix that!  Half the parts are gone!
  • Any idiot can heal with a bacta tank, but all you got is me instead.
  • Dad wanted me to stay home and grow plaxat, but did I listen? Nooooo....
  • Making it hurt more is easy!
  • Bend over and cough.

Spring Quarter finally staggered to a collapse and died.  Finally.  This is pretty much the first break I've had since December, what with the enormous pool of faculty search work in Winter, and then the apocalyptic shift to on-line instruction in March.

I have a couple more pre-med interviews in the next two weeks, and of course lots of other stuff to do before September, but a few days of decompression are in order first.
