Cancer 5,815 Report post Posted October 24, 2008 Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Indeed. We'll probably have this group for another couple of weeks. Enough for them to recover and get comfortable with people (after the trauma at the vet's), and then it's to the shelter for adoption.

Cancer 5,815 Report post Posted October 24, 2008 Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I expect these guys will find homes fast. We are pretty successful in raising happy-friendly types. The most standoffish of this lot is (as it happens) the most striking, a pretty little lynx point.

SatinKitty 164 Report post Posted October 24, 2008 Re: Longest Running Thread EVER A stripey kitty with an "M" on it's face. They are the most common kind of kitty as most have at least some tabby on them. My kitties were spayed when I adopted them at 8 weeks old. I hope they weighed enough. They seem fine. Cancer 5,815 Report post Posted October 24, 2008 Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Cat descriptions get pretty arcane, so don't sweat it. Tabbies are the common stripy cats you see, whether short or long haired. There's a name for it when there's big white patches that break up the tabby pattern, but I forget what it is. This lot has two tabbies (one silver-grey, one brown-black), one pointed (I mentioned her already), one that we think of as black (she's got a couple of white patches on her chest and stomach) but some of her longer hairs look to be a frosting of silver, so she may change color before she reaches full adulthood. Tortiseshells and Calicos seem to have a bit more attitude than other cats. They seem more likely to be "only" cats in my experience.
