The old one almost worked after that, but I couldn't get it to give me a lower case "o" after I'd done all I could to clean it up. Capital "O" yes; lower case, no. And you wonder why your IT department hates you.
Cancer
Well, this is the first time I've done that. That it went into my keyboard and not into my lap is as unplanned as any other aspect of the incident.
Pariah
Well, that's two trips to the ER in two weeks now. tkdguy
tkdguy
Sorry to hear that, Pariah! ?
Ternaugh
Sorry to hear that, as well. I'm starting to receive the insurance statements and bills for my ER experience in early January, and they're downright frightening. Lots of big numbers with magical accounting, and apparently, some kind of agreement between the hospital and my insurance that made a lot of those numbers disappear in a puff of accounting smoke. Old Man
I too am sorry to hear about the ER visits, but at least they were visits and not one-way trips. I'm also sorry about the billing. I'm still getting mail about my ER visit from last August. I'm also sorry about the ****ed up state of health care in this country. I could go on. aylwin13 and Pariah

Ternaugh
And some of those numbers came back. I've received updated statements from my insurance, and it sure looks like any possible tax refund money (and some more) will be going to co-pays. Pariah
So after my ER experience, the specialist they referred me to is finally able to see me . . . on April 17th, more than four weeks hence, or seven weeks after the incident. But hey, at least we don't have to deal with the delays of socialized medicine! Old Man
Hermit
Well, I was going to vent about how the Flu sucked (Thought it was the cold at first) and how I'm FINALLY on the mend but still feel nasty... but you know, after reading Pariah's posts... I'll deal. Sympathies, man Pariah
Old Man
This was a bad winter for illnesses. I was literally sick for all of February. At one point I coughed so hard I pulled something in my back.
Cancer
I got through winter relatively painlessly, but something these last two weeks has been releasing pollen (or spores or whatever) that has my eyes swollen and itchy about four hours a day (the 24-hour antihistimine gives up after about 20 hours). I've chosen those four to be the hours before I go to bed. My eyes emit audible noise when I rub them, which is not a normal pattern for one's visual perception organs. Ternaugh
I got my "you may already be a winner!" jury duty summons today.

Ternaugh
Just now, tkdguy said: Same here, a couple of weeks ago. I looked up when I finished serving as a juror on the last trial, and it was October 2015, so a little over the minimum gap of 2 years. Every day, every EFFING day this whole month, there's been some BS to put me in a foul mood!!! At the rate it's going, it's a wonder I'm being called as a potential juror instead of as the defendant! Old Man
Wasn’t trying. Still, I hope you get out of jury duty. The trial I was in took like six weeks.
Pariah
I haven't had a jury summons since I was in Colorado, nearly 30 years ago.

Grailknight
Hold on to that anger and let it out if you are selected for a panel. One side or the other will disqualify you. I've been to jury duty four times but all it came to was four days of catching up on my reading.
Pariah
The last time I was called for jury duty, my Dad asked me if I wanted to get out of it. He said if I did, all I needed to say was, "Fry the b@st@rd."
Ternaugh
At this point, I know that if I'm moved into the jury box during selection, then I'm probably going to be chosen for the final panel. I've served on a jury panel twice. First one was a criminal case that took two days, second was a civil case that took 9 days. In both cases, we found for the defendants, and I was glad that I served. As an aside, judges in Nevada have the ability to assign 2 days of community service in lieu of jury duty, and it's usually applied to folks who use some of the tactics mentioned upthread.
