Pariah
I have posted this link before, and I know you're dealing with a somewhat different population of students, but here. I personally contributed only a couple of those. These are brilliant. I'd like to post a link to the Book of Face, if that's not a problem. Cancer
It's not my blog, but the blog has gone inert, so AFAIK it would be OK. When he says "composed long ago", he means the late 1990s.
Pariah
Well, it's not quite prehistoric, but in terms of the Internet, yeah, that's pretty old.
Cancer
Both of us were early in our first teaching faculty appointments, and there was lots of commiseration in a (long gone) chatroom about it. I claim credit for items 2-6, 2-7, and 4-5 in that list. And I remember the nervous laughter in the room the first time I used 2-7 to a class. That group was incensed that I demanded they do actual library research on the term paper (and tune-up works en route to that) I assigned. Pariah
2-7 was my favorite one on the page.
Cancer
I have had the (web) response exhange that went something like: "2-7? I don't get it." "You're from Arkansas, aren't you?" Pariah

Pariah
Texans are crazier to Norwegians than Finns are?
L. Marcus
Yes. We're all used to the Finns' little particularities.
Pariah
That's fair. We're all used to Texans here. Growing up, we had this joke: "Why did California get earthquakes while Colorado got Texans? California won the coin toss."
L. Marcus
Bwahah. Swedes and Norwegians joke about each other. Like, "What do roundabout signs in Norway say? 'Max seven laps'." And the last war between Norway and Sweden was going poorly for the Swedes, until they came up with a new tactic: shouting "Norwegians, where are you?" They'd answer "Here!" and stand up -- BLAM! The Norwegians found this devilishly clever, and tried to emulate it. "Hey Swedes, where are you?" "Who wants to know?" "Us!" BLAM!
Cancer
"Ten thousand Swedes went through the weeds At the battle of Copenhaven Ten thousand Swedes went through the weeds Chased by one Norwegian." -- encountered in the Scandinavian district here in Seattle Pariah

Bazza
What part of "Everything was due no later than last Wednesday" are you having trouble with?! Should have expressed it in Mathematics. "Assignments > Wednesday"
Cancer
The response to that would have been, "Yeah, Wednesdays suck."
