Cancer
Also on July 20 was the anniversary of the landing of Viking 1 (1976), the first fully successful spacecraft to land on Mars. (The Soviet Mars 3 spacecraft landed in 1971, but failed after 20 seconds.) Viking 2 followed Viking 1 by 5 days. tkdguy

Bazza
O...k... I just read this sentence: "herein lies the basis of the solution of the problem of original causality". 😳 Now I have to understand it.
Cancer
I think I would have to know what the author considers to be "the problem of original causality". Until then, you have "the problem of original comprehensibility."
Bazza
Context of the chapter was relating to symbolism being a "language" (if that is possible) that is vital, (which the author contends is outside of time, i.e. eternity, aka the Present Moment). What Physics might refer to as "The Zero Point" or "The Singularity". The author contends this symbolic "language" which is not analytical but an analogical interpretation of a person based on their own innate intelligence (not based on quantity but quality, what me would think of as intuition but more certain). The author is an Egyptologist and this symbolic "language" he is describing is hieroglyphics. He suggests (well states) that the Tao Te Ching is another text that should be read symbolically. I would surmise that Hebrew and the Bible, particularly the Pentateuch/Torah would be another example. And this method of symbolic, analogical, vital, innate intelligence which was how the Egyptians did science is forgotten in the modern age. Just typing this has been useful to me showing myself how much of this I understand.
