[Pulp] resource request

Hi all

 

Anyone know of a quick/easy way to produce 'fake' newspaper pages for use as player handouts eg a Word template? I want to use them as a daily update for a pulp game (ie to keep the PCs abreast of 'world' events, and also to drop in clues and leads to ongoing plots). I imagine there's no reason why it wouldn't also work for contemporary games.

 

For anyone running pulp games, I found this site to be quite a good resource for pictures that can be used for NPCs (assuming none of your players are 30s film buffs...).

Use em anyway. Be "the director" and cast your stories. I find its easier to run adventures sometimes if I've identified specific actors to play specific roles.

 

In my last Pulp game (set in the early twenties), I had a great time casting all the NPC roles. I found nice head shots and blew them up to 8.5x11. When the players met them, I taped them to my whiteboard with their names and some brief information printed underneath them. I think it did a lot to help them remmember exactly who each NPC was.

 

Other genres are harder to cast, since it can be a bit more difficult to find the exact headshot you might need for a Fantasy or Supers game. But, if you're running pulp, then you might as well go for it.

Heh, we're going to be starting a newspaper digitisation project here at work soon. Good bit of serendipidy there
