Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

Dr. Infinity (after dodging a hail of blaster fire from agents): Nothing quite like having nine guys shooting you in the face.

Objx (played by Dr. Infinity's player's wife):....Isnt that bukkakke?

-------

This one is all OOC

Ultragirl: I can't help it. Smart-@$$ery comes naturally to me.

Objx: Yes, apparently you CAN sit on a book and read it at the same time ;)

Ultragirl: Especially if its a book on @$$trology

Objx: Written by Isaac @$$imov!

Ultragirl: And @$$ociates!

Objx: ...Wouldnt that be Robert Heinie-lein?

Group: *ROFL*

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

A few from last night's Champions game.

Built To Last prepares to go for a ride slung underneath a PRIMUS helicopter:

Built To Last: “I’m going for the Superman pose. Or if I can’t do that, Air Jordan.”

The most backstory the other PCs have managed to get out of Built To Last thus far:

Built To Last: “I had to decide to use my powers for good, or awesome. I chose awesome.”

I forget that Inertia isn't currently with the main group.

GM: “You all see an enormous gaping hole in the back wall of the vault.”

Inertia: (OOC) “I can see it from my apartment? Wow, that is a big hole.”

PRIMUS learns that VIPER has gotten their hands on nine sets of power armor:

Lead PRIMUS Agent NOC: “Excuse me, I have to make a call to 1-800-WE’RESO****ED.”

Enigma gets Built To Last's acronym wrong:

Built To Last: “It’s BTL, not BLT!”

Enigma calls for backup to Inertia, who is home baking brownies:

Enigma: “We need you here right away!”

Inertia: “Do you want brownies?”

BTL: “YES!”

Lastly, how many times have we all heard variations on this one? ;)

Enigma: “Has the museum been robbed..." [doorbell rings] "Ooo! Food!”

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

From the All Star Squadron I am in:

The Shining Knight said, "Verily, it be a one-eyed, one-horned flying purple people eater of some sort. Surely, songs will be written about our battle with this beast."

OOC: Yea, verily. By Sheb Wooley, mayhap.

CES

Owe you rep for that one!

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

From a recent Teen Champions game. We're battling a bunch of chainsaw weilding mechanical snowmen.

Player 1: (After coming back inside after a quick smoke) How's it going?

Me: I gave Frosty a kick in the nuts.

Player 1: Frosty has nuts?

Player 2: They have snow balls.

That reminds me of our running gag with a power armored character, MRU. (It stood for Metahuman Retrieval Unit, I think). My character had a habit of sneaking in an stenciling in a period between the R and the U.

He was never amused.

He's Mr. U, Mr. T's teen sidekick!

On purpose mind - he's been entirely too mellow for a guy in powered armor. Needed a bit of . . . antagonizing.

Some more from the same game-

An OOC discussion on INT:

GM to Inertia: You're almost as smart as the crazy homeless guy.

OOC discussion, Inertia's player is trying to get some In Game info

Interia: Doesn't this look familiar?

GM: Familiar how?

Inertia: Like the last time I was shoved down a tunnel?

GM: Last time? (which was over a year ago real time)

BTL: Birth.

GM: *loses concentration completely*

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

During the final battle with Lorenzo Vitale-Seveigny. (YES, I have a villain named Lorenzo. It's okay. These things happen.)

Elvis Presley is suddenly and mystically returned to life....

Eiko Takashima: I knew I should have blown up Elvis's corpse. Then this wouldn't have happened!

Elvis, upon seeing that most of the group consists of beautiful women: "Whooahh, Momma, come to the King!"

During the battle, Eiko Takashima releases an inhalant novacaine bomb to make magical spells more difficult to cast. Unfortunately, this means that no one without Life Support: Immune to Chemicals can talk clearly anymore.

Gideon: Betther Lukth Nexthtt Time, Theveainey...

Romula: Couldth we watith for thith to wear off tho that everyone but Captain Unity doethnth thound like a rethard?

This is a very funny concept. Out of curiousity, how did you do the build? Darkness to Sound (speech)?

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

In our Dark Champions game, it has been said on more than one occasion that Midnight, my... whatever she is (mentalist/mystic/martial artist)... should have the Psych Lim: Must Mouth Off at Vastly More Powerful Opponent. But she really does get off some of the best taunts in the game...

We are fighting the head of the Night Dragon Clan (or rather, the guy who usurped the position). Big. Bad. Powerful. Damn near impossible to hit. He nearly kills Midnight in a single surprise attack (although she survives by the skin of her teeth). Startled the hell out of him ten seconds later when she plowed him with a 3x Rapid Fire 5d6 Ego Attack.

Tengu: "What... how did you survive?"

Midnight: (weakly but still laughing at him) "I thought... you knew... only a true ninja... can kill a ninja..."

(He was ready to rip her spine out after that one.)

The head of PSI (aka the most powerful telepath in Dust Raven's version of the Champions universe) HATES Midnight with a passion. He has an ego the size of Montana, which she delights in deflating.

Zephrem: *bellowing in fury* "I AM THE MOST POWERFUL TELEPATH ON THIS PLANET! I COULD TURN YOUR MIND INSIDE OUT WITH A THOUGHT!"

(He attacks Midnight, who sloughs off the Ego Attack with her 25 pts Mental Defense.)

Midnight: "Delusions of grandeur do not qualify as a mental power."

It was a sticky change environment with a -5 penalty to speech related skills and activities. (Which just goes to show you that sometimes having a skill roll is better than having none.)

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

Gideon: .Eiko, I need you to do something for me, and I need you to make sure no one else knows about it. Can you do it?

Eiko: I AM capable of subtlety, you know. If not, I could always go get the baseball bat over there. You know, the one I use to adjust my telescope?

....

As a result of Gideon not telling everyone on the team his little problem about discovering that he will die in 1953, despite the fact that he temporally skipped that year, the following scene occurred later.

GM: The seconds begin counting down to the New Year. (Countdown occurs) And suddenly, you all look different. (Descriptions occur) Happy New Year has become "Happy Bodito Boditay!"

Gideon's player: Mike, I'm aware of this, right?

Me: Yes, you are!

Gideon: I walk over to the nearest policeman.

Me: Okay. He's wearing Jackboots now, and a funny "BB" stylized on his shoulder.

Gideon: I grab him in a fierce hug and shout "Happy Bodito Boditay!"

And the palindromedary's head. And the palindromedary's other head.

Oh good... you weren't the only one.

It may become clear when a few more Digital HERO articles are published.

Probably not. I don't have a subscription.

I do have a palindromedary

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

From my Xcrawl game session last night, the team were fighting it out with the baddies in the last room when surprise reinforcements arrive.

GM (Me): The Bears and the Giants leap from concealment and attack.

P1: We're being attacked by a couple of football teams?

:nonp:

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

I'd have a quote if our GM didn't keep cancelling the game... *hint hint* =) Then again, I called off sick last week... ah well. The cookie and all that...
