I think those are from Fantasy Hero. In the latest version of Hero Designer they are included in the program. What they do however I don't know because I don't have Fantasy Hero.

My only complaint about HD2.0 is they don't tell you up front what powers come from what book...

 

I'll look those up when I get home.

 

OTOH you could replace fearless with a like number of points in mental defense, deadly blow with a like number of points in increased HTH damage (from martial arts), and berserk fury with...something worth 14 points.

 

IDHMBIFOM or I could give a better explaniation.

BTW (before I forget again)...exactly how does damage shield work? Someone earlier in the thread (two pages ago or so) made a comment that sounded, to me at least, as if you need to hit an opponent with it for it to have any effect...

You start with an Attack Power. If that Power is not already Constant, then you have to apply the Continuous Advantage. Then you can take the Damage Shield Advantage.

 

When the Damage Shield is in use, any character who touches the DS character takes the effect of the shield. They also take the effect of the shield if the DS character Grabs them. If the DS character applied an additional +1/4 Advantage to make his DS offensive, then other characters also take the shield's effect when the DS character hits them with HTH attacks other than Grab.

All are talents from Fantasy HERO for 5th Edition, "available now at your local game store or the Online Store". Plug aside, Berserk fury is just a self-boost power. Theres plenty of ways to do that aside from the Talent. Deadly Blow is just KA bought limited to a weapon of opportunity and/or circumstance. Fearless is a bundle of stats only to resist/protect against fear IIRC.

Ok, it's been a month, and even as a lurker I hate to see this thread die! Therefore, I'm getting involved. But, man-I really had to go searching for it again!

 

I've been wanting to create an index of this thread for a while, a list of what the challenges were, who answered them and with what... I say this before I actually do it because I know there are some other index-hobbyists who may have already done it.

Background:

Hal kIng, racecar legend and playboy had it all until the day his brakes "mysteriously" stopped working in the middle of a race.

Fortunately, Silas Strange (infamous inventor-industrialist) happened to be present (according to the tabloids, his daughter, Star Strange - the famous runway model had been dating Hal) and arranged for Hal's "unique and quite expensive" medical care at his private "hospital"

Eventually, Hal awoke and was startled to discover his monstrous appearance and that he had bizarre uncontrollable powers. Hal went into a berserk rage and killed the entire medical staff who'd been working on his "treatments", soon after this, he began to smash his way out of the Strange Industries medical compound until the giant leering, triumphant face of Silas Strange appeared on the giant monitors that had been strategically placed. Electronically, Silas explained King's situation and that he would remain an "inhuman freak" unless he did three things:

- Served as a super-powered employee for Strange Industries.

- Married his daughter, Star.

- Eventually provide him with a grandchild.

Hal realized he didn't have a choice and bitterly agreed. Strange Industries stock went up after ""Element King" was revealed to the public and the televised pay-per-view marriage ceremony raked in record profits.

Most of Element King's adventures have been related to Silas Strange's schemes and to threats against him and his daughter. Some of Element King's enemies include the "Go-Go Bandits", "Element Kong" -a giant gorilla with Element King's powers, and Percival Payne -a bitter rival of Strange's and would-be-suitor to his daughter, Star.

 

Personality:

Hal is a reluctant hero. Partially because of his unhappiness with his condition, but mostly because he's just not a nice guy. The only part of the superhero life that he enjoys is the fighting which allows him to take out his anger on criminals and fills in his thrillseeking void that he used to satisfy with racecar driving. Hal still sees other women and Silas is concerned with how this might affect his company and his daughter if it ever comes to light.

Howsabout a character like Captain Universe, the Marvel character. Essentially this sentient energy-force would float around the world and jump from person to person and each time, that [person would be recruited to act as "Captain Universe" , a galactic defender flying brick with some Green Lantern type abilities.
