Re: US Army Rangers

It depends on how you want to run your game, I have a package system that builds, so a Ranger would take Basic army training, then an MOS, then airborne training and finally ranger training, much as a real ranger would go through training. This is far more complex than most would probably like but thats why I like HERO, I can have it my way. I would post what I have but I'm not sure how to post a word table and I'm too lazy to type it all out.

Crud. There were package listings for military and government agents in some 4E source material, but I cannot seem to find it (at least, not in the table of contents of the books I skimmed through). If I find it tomorrow, I'll post it for you. I do recall you had to have the soldier package first, followed by the Ranger package.

This sounds exactly like what I am looking for. Can you please email me the document to jcanup@dingosolutions.com. In exchange, I am willing to clean up whatever you have and publish it in .pdf format so you will have a clean copy you can post anywhere you like from now on.

Re: US Army Rangers

Ok, lets see if this worked

I haven't played with this in quite awhile, it was an rtf so I had to change it to word, but it looks like I haven't played with this since 2002.

It doesn't have Rangers in it, I guess I didn't get to spec ops packages but you might still find it interesting.

Re: US Army Rangers

This is what I did for rank and decorations, it is intended for a purely military campaign where the NPC's would actually know how to read anothers uniform and recognize the achievements the various bits represent. In addition to actual rank there are modifiers to represent influence, the company commander's enlisted clerk may have more influence than a lieutenant running a platoon.

I'm one of the writers for Special Operations.com (from way back in the day when my boy Tom Hunter still own it), and if you want additional info on US Special Operations Forces (SOF) (only the US Army has Special Forces), swing by http://www.specwarnet.net,'>http://www.specwarnet.net, for SWAT info, http://www.specwarnet.net/taclink,'>http://www.specwarnet.net/taclink, info on Aussie special ops units http://www.ausspecialforces.net

Most of the articles are a couple of years old, but still prety accurate, if you want more updated material, either post a question here, or PM me.
