Hudson City Blues

I am starting up a DC campaign using the 4th edition campaign book-Hudson City Blues.

 

I was wondering if anyone else had used it successfully? I tried running it once but the campaign "fell off the rails" as it were due to too many dark and mysterious loner types.

 

Getting them to cooperate was quite a pain(though the plot device helped some).

 

So any horror/sucess stories?

Neither, but a general suggestion. Make the players figure out why their characters would work together! Also, veto characters who are total loners. (Even Wolverine joins in on the reindeer games.)

I ran this campaign very sucessfully as my first Dark Champions Campaign. You can read all about the Omega Team Campaign by following this link. Hudson City Blues was only a part of the campaign but most of its events take place in the first story arc.

I played in Edsel's game and without qualification it was the best campaign that I have had the pleasure of being involved with. There are some traps that can trip the unwary or novice GM in HCB but with some fair judgement they seemed to be navigated well... Note that I never read the supplement (though I really, really, want to).
