They were so promising and just kind of sputtered into mediocrity (IMHO of course)

Killer Shrike
Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? I'm The Man - Motorhead (My wife got me a bunch of albums for our anniversary so I've been diggin' on the Motorhead for the last couple weeks... Lemmy rocks). SNIP Iron Maiden info Never liked Maiden myself, but Motorhead on the other hand is "da bomb". Whats funny is my wife will generally tolerate most of my music in small doses, but for some reason Motorhead jumps all over her last nerve. She can't stand it. Its not because of its heavyness either; she'll tolerate bands like Mushroomhead, Opeth, Spineshank, Static X, and Mastodon and they are all much heavier than Motorhead. Just out of curiosity I experimented by playing the second disk of Metallica's Garage Days Revisited rerelease -- Garge Inc. -- on a road trip and she could stand everything on there except last caress, but when it hit the Motorhead covers, which she didnt know were Motorhead covers mind you, she HATED it and started complaining immediately. Maybe its the song arrangements. No clue, but its funny. I sometimes stick a stray Motorhead track onto her Nano when I switch the songs around for her
Killer Shrike
Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Ah I get ... it was a band, not a descriptor of Tea Pary Sometimes my own head is screwed on sideways. Never heard 'em. Though if they're related to Queens Of The Stone Age I may not bother. Theres a lot of cross over between Kyuss, Screaming Trees, Queens of the Stone Age, and Eagles of Death Metal Tea Party is an different sort of sound, or at least the album I heard was. Not as hard. They're pretty good, but not quite hard enough for my tastes. They have an interesting website though and are definitely worth a listen: http://www.teaparty.com/ Wiki article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tea_Party Queens of the Stone Age also used to be called Gamma Ray but there is also a German metal band by that name, so they changed it. They were so promising and just kind of sputtered into mediocrity (IMHO of course) I agree. There was some real darkness on Throwing Copper. The new CD has no edge, it's just a stack of mostly accoustic tracks. They've always had some religious aspects to their songs but now It's like they morphed into a Christian rock outfit, a la Jars of Clay.
