Since we mentioned Detective Conan:

For those unfamiliar with the series, the premise is that a teenage genius detective had been forcibly given a poison that was expected to kill him by a mysterious conspiracy. Instead it shrunk him to the size of an eight-year-old. But he still maintained his intellect and his interest in crime-solving, so he build a new identity for himself -- that included using an unwitting rival as a pawn who "announced" his conclusions while he was himself drugged. (how he didn't develop and addiction is a mystery to me). "Conan Edogawa", while his heart and mind are in the right place, is thus a somewhat morally ambiguous figure. That the rival is the father of his girlfriend while he was his real age complicates matters further as keeping his secret becomes more and more difficult.

What's kept the series going so long is the fiendish ingenuity of many of Conan's cases, most of which involve murder. The only criminals he hasn't been able to catch are the ones responsible for his predicament (who don't know he's not dead).

The series had an Adult Swim run under the title Case Closed.
