Mark Rand
This is a companion thread to the "Batman: The Animated Adventures" thread. The team Batman and Batgirl are forming to help protect Gotham are going to use a safehouse/auxiliary Batcave as their lair. The safehouse is an old four-bedroom, two story Victorian with a full basement and attic that's connected, through a basement tunnel, to the old church next door. Bruce obtained both, through whatever means he does, and converted an abandoned subway tunnel into an auxiliary Batcave. It has a lab, a shop, computers, a library/meeting room and a trophy room. The Victorian's usual residents are the DOSPA, Homeland Security, and PRIMUS liaisons and the team's doctor, nurse, and technician. (The doctor is the DOSPA liaison's wife and the nurse is the PRIMUS liaison's.) The reason for the three liaisons is simple. The agencies don't trust each other. According to local records, the residents of the house (the church's pastor, his wife [the organist and choir director], the parish nurse, and church custodian) were all found dead one day, just after the parish was absorbed into a larger one. Comments from our learned panel would be most welcome.
Mark Rand
Re: The Auxiliary Batcave. For those of you who are wondering about it, the idea for having a church as part of the safehouse came from the stories in Marc Spector: Moon Knight involving Stained-Glass Scarlet. I chose it because it has a small gym while the Auxiliary Batcave, which is based on the old Wayne Foundation Batcave, doesn't. (Bruce worked out in the Wayne Foundation Building's gym.)
