Drhoz
Re: "Neat" Pictures Do tell. CA's a genetic condition where defective collagen makes the skin incredibly elastic, but also highly fragile - even giving the cat an injection can make the skin split. I'll let you imagine how well attempts at surgery, or picking up your cat by the scruff of its neck goes. The result, long-term, can be long flaps of scar tissue resembling wings - but stressing the cat can make the cat 'shed' its wings - (they tear off that easily). So the various courtcases over and thefts of winged cats usually end up a waste of time and effort. Unless the wings contain bone, in which case it's an example of an extra limb or two. CA catflaps may contain muscle tissue, but with polymelia it's a genuine if usually dwarfed and deformed leg

tkdguy
Re: "Neat" Pictures My God! It's full of bulbs![/Dave Bowman] Heh. I estimated at least 40,000 when I went there for a glass of absinthe just before the New Year. I counted the lights in one string, counted the number of stings in a row, and counted the number of rows. I think my estimation was too low, but I was already half-blind from staring at all those lights for several minutes.

Haven Walkur
Re: "Neat" Pictures Gatchaman/Battle of the Planets reimaged by an artist... Thanks for posting this, SteveZilla; I love "grown-up" / more realistic versions of G-Force. (But then I loved the original 'Battle of the Planets' on TV; at 14, I always made sure I was home from school in time to watch it!) It's a wonderful, moody piece...but oddly enough, the team's masks look more insectile than avian. Who is the artist? Please to tell this humble querent. But in the meantime, here's some 'Mystery Artist' Rep.

No, that was the absinthe. So how long has the Hyatt been serving the real thing? ;-)

But in the meantime, here's some 'Mystery Artist' Rep. Thanks for the rep! The site I found that on attributed it to an artist going by Artgerm on deviantART. It goes on to say that "Artgerm is the studio head and creative director of the talented digital painting studio Imaginary Friends." I hope that helps you figure out who it is. Haven Walkur
Re: "Neat" Pictures Thanks muchly for the tips, SteveZilla! That was enough info to lead me to the name of the artist in question: Stanley "Artgerm" Lau, and one of my new favourites.

SteveZilla
Re: "Neat" Pictures I wish I could read russian so I could figure out what this was. It's a ground-effect vehicle. Judging from the rocket tubes on top and the machine-gun turret in the back, it's a leftover from the cold war.
