Who's on the left? I recognize Arnold in the middle and Andre on the right.

Never mind, TinEye found the image and tells me that it's Wilt Chamberlain.

BTW -- Wilt is 7'1", Arnold is 6'2", and Andre is 7'0". Picture is from Conan the Destroyer.

Andre was actually listed as 7'4", but the accuracy can be debated because he kept growing his entire life.

Re: "Neat" Pictures

The others called it correctly as a Golden Orb spider. Article here. And it was in Australia.

This site has a short *video* of it! :eg:

*moves from Australia*

that 'thing' is horrendous.

Golden Orb spiders are very common in the greener parts of Sydney, though somewhat smaller than their Queensland relatives. Not considered dangerous (by Australian standards, anyhow ;) ). In their life cycle, the females build big strong webs and get progressively bigger / fatter (up to about 3" long, including legs, maximum) during the warmer months before dying out completely (presumably birthing the next generation).

Accidentally walking into their webs is a common occurrance in some places (including around my neighbourhood), and as disconcerting as for ANY spider, but I've never heard of anybody actually being bitten by them. Of course, maybe they are just careful to hide the bodies afterwards. :)

That gal looks busted.

It's a great character design, especially when coupled with the sickly green flame effects of her magic.

BTW, that's Chrysalis, Queen of the Changelings, who feed off of love.

I'm one episode short of finishing season 1, so I look forward to her appearance as I move into Season 2. :)

Re: "Neat" Pictures

The girlfriend and I went out of town for the weekend and my buddy, Captain Calico Jack (AKA the Cap'n) had to go to the kennel. He loves the kennel because they put him in the puppy play area and he plays the entire time (he's a very gentle soul). But he always comes home exhausted :)

When I left my office to go to work this morning, I noticed that he was not lying behind my desk chair (as he usually does). I found this in the living room.

I think we saw things like that ("bird spiders") when we went to Florida five years back. The specific place was this wildlife refuge in Brevard County. Though the color looks wrong; when I go looking for images like the ones I took (which are on the archival drive at home) the closest one is the fourth image down on this page ((WARNING ARACHNOPHONE CREEP-OUT OVERLOAD)).

And his condition caused him to stoop.

Especially in his later years. When younger he could force himself to stand up straight, but the giantism bent him over really badly later on. Several doctors have noted that it's something of a miracle that he lived as long as he did.
