tkdguy
It looks like there's an area where the rider can sit "inside," protected from the back blast of those rockets. This is a great vehicle for one of my characters, although the costume would be more like this one.

tkdguy
My family came across this place yesterday on our day trip. Unfortunately, it wasn't open for tours that day. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mazza-castle-pacifica

Cancer
I have a spectroscopy lab in one of my classes, where the students use prism spectroscopes older than I am to measure wavelengths of spectral lines. Most of the time is spend measuring "known" lines to set up the dispersion curve, that is, the relationship between deflection angle (which you read off the spectrometer) and wavelength. In this stage they ask me: "How many of these lines do we have to measure?" My reply: "It's like Pokemon. Gotta measure 'em all!" They are shaken by my use of Pokemon idiom, but since I use it correctly, they do not ask for further clarification. aylwin13
It's always fun to freak out the students with pop culture references you're too old to know. My almost 20-yr old daughter does the opposite to me. She gets my references that are positively from before she was born, that I expect her not to know.
