We recently found his portrait in a box in our art collection at the museum – what we know: 1: He was not an aviator. 2. His awards include WWI and WWII victory medals, Haitian Campaign Medal, Yangtze Service Medal and Asiatic Pacific Campaign medals among others. 3. His portrait was painted in 1962 by an artist named McAllister probably from an official Navy photograph. We think he was a Naval Academy graduate probably around 1915-1918. We do not know how his portrait came to our collection and the Naval Academy Museum and the NHHC have not been able to identify him.
