Korvar
Re: Daily Art Findings I'm roleplaying again! It's so cool! Two character sketches from Tribe 8 - the first is my current Dahlian dancer/acrobat/ninja (currently badly wounded by a big nasty spiderish thing). The second is my Agnite kid from the previous week's one-shot.

Enforcer84
Re: Daily Art Findings I'm thinking of summoning my godlike powers and taking over China. Just so I can take HEISE for my own. latest piece I like Here Sure, she does some yaoi* stuff, but by and large I find her work to be imminently cool. Commissions are spendy though. Upwards of $300. *Pretty boy on Pretty boy romance.
RPMiller
Re: Daily Art Findings Commissions are spendy though. Upwards of $300. I buy original Chinese paintings from a local artist for less than $200, and that is framed even. Sometimes I wonder who these people are that commission works from artists that charge that much. Remjin
Re: Daily Art Findings Having hung out with some of the "rich" folk out there... most are cheapskates unless it involves something that shows status. Buying a $4000 handbag is nothing, but tipping the "help" isn't worth the bother.
Enforcer84
Re: Daily Art Findings I see plenty of Deviant Art "fans" who comission $125 to $200 pieces. $300.00 is on the high end, but not unheard of.

AnotherSkip
Re: Daily Art Findings Jeff Dee (a very professional artist) charges between 300-750$ for character portraits (he did the art for V&V and some early TSR among other things) Boris Vallejo (needs no introduction I hope) charges something like $4,000 for character paintings. and for those of you who think doing art is a get-rich-quick-scheme.... Forgeddabouddit!!!! I am good enough that on a regular basis I get asked "which newspaper do you draw for?", with a few "are you published?" and occassional "have you submitted your work yet?" Income this decade from art projects: $10.00 Here is my V&V sized counters (1"~=5ft) link: http://abacusdiesel.com/ha/images/alexartwork.pdf And here is a Gamers Comic i made for a charitable cause (Lakewood gamers) http://lakewoodrpc.i8.com/photo.html
Gary Miles
Re: Daily Art Findings Ditto. I don't know, Mike. I just picked up a bunch of AutoDuel Quarterly's at a convention charity auction, and there was a familiar name at the bottom of some of the illustrations of heavily armed vehicles... Captain Obvious
Re: Daily Art Findings and for those of you who think doing art is a get-rich-quick-scheme.... If I can avoid paying $300 for a character portrait, that's good enough. As it is, I usually just have to do without.

Korvar
Re: Daily Art Findings Another of our Tribe 8 crew, a Joanite warrior with a fondness for his ancient chain saw weapon... Remjin
Re: Daily Art Findings If I want a character portrait, I'll just contact Storn. I think his rate is like $50, but he gets a bit of freedom to it while staying to your concept, and gets to it when he has time kind of thing. I forgot Storn was at GenCon. I'm bummed I didn't visit him. =(
