tkdguy
Re: Pulparize It! GI Joe: the Rise of Cobra: A special unit of the US Army with unique personnel travels the globe in an effort to smash a global conspiracy known as Cobra. Cobra works behind-the-scenes' date=' financing would-be dictators and mad scientists with the proceeds from a massive armaments manufacturer that supplies weapons to all sides in many conflicts. For GI Joe, failure is not a word in their vocabulary....[/quote'] I was looking at the Pulp Figures catalogue and thought of this thread. Some of the miniatures can serve as Pulp versions of Cobra Commander (PWM 6), Destro (PWM 30), and the Baroness (PWM 11; not the pic in the thumbnail, of course). Click on the links to see the full picture. Also look at PWM 1 for alternate versions of CC and Destro. You can also find an alternate Baroness figure here. I'm thinking of the Dragon Lady, of course.
SKJAM!
Re: Pulparize It! Tweeny Witches: Arusu's personality quirks rely way too much on "cute witch" anime to translate well, but her father's experiences... An archaeologist investigating a mysterious raven statue on a remote island finds himself transported to a hidden valley with two clashing cultures. The all-female Witches, who use the body parts of "faeries" to cast "magic spells", and the patriarchal Warlocks, who have developed super-science. While the two societies are co-dependent, they're engaged in a cold war with much espionage and sabotage going on. Our hero falls in love with a beautiful witch, and assists her in battling the Warlocks. But then he discovers the existence of Wizards, a magically-inclined group within the Warlocks subject to discrimination and dwindling numbers. Suddenly the moral questions become more complex.... csyphrett
Re: Pulparize It! I can't remember if this has been done but I'm going to put it down... Doc Will Magnus is a world renowned adventurer and explorer. He has been beaten by the strange menace of Chemo, so he decides that he needs assistants to help him combat the growing rise of strange menaces. He needs Metal Men. Michael Hopcroft
Re: Pulparize It! Despicable Me: It's not easy being a pulp master villain. The evil Gru must deal not only with an annoying rival but also with the frequent interference of two-fisted heroes and heroines who get in the way of his schemes. But in his determination to be the best (worst?) bad guy in the world, Gru may have met his match with the spunky orphans he finds himself having to take care of -- who have an alarming tendency of needing rescuing very, very frequently.... SKJAM!
Re: Pulparize It! The VOICE of Doom The mysterious mandarin known as Lung Hung, sinister leader of the Red Dragon Tong, has been thwarted once too often by the heroic members of the Adventurers' Club. To this end, he's put together a group of the world's top hit men (and women) and sent them after the Club. Two of the famed Adventurers have already fallen, and it's up to a hastily assembled group of rookies to save the day. Obviously, some of the characters are going to have to be powered *way* down. L'Maitre is a French genius with a mis-shapen skull and a gift for hypnotism. Black Raven uses a glider cape, Irredencia is basically Rondo Hatton with an Italian accent, and so forth. In the pulp tradition, the radio skulls stay.
