That's kinda what you're forced to be in those games.

Blue Jogger
Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) I actually liked HOL for the same reason I like HERO. Most RPGs come packaged with a complete and pre-digested, pre-scripted world with cardboard stereotypes. HOL turned it around and just gave you literally the garbage of all the other RPGs in the universe and said, "Here you go." It was a blast, I had a robot named NE-1469 (I was in college, so sue me) and he was programmed to destroy all enemy life. Unfortuately, he discovered that NE-1470 was, essentially, Mechanon. Unfortuately, no one believed 69 and had all his useful parts removed and dropped on HOL. To make matters worse, his multiple CPU cluster had different personalities. One was programmed to protect women and children (supposely non-combatants) and render aid. He was also very friendly for a robot. However, CPU 4 was designed to kick in when hurt or threatened and that would make the eyes glow red, speak in a robotic voice, and turn him into an unstoppable killing machine. This led to many creative problems and solutions. CPU 6 - "I can not fire on an innocent child, even if he is armed with a gun bigger than me." CPU 4 - "This unit is threatened, the unit will surrive. Warning: weapon systems are active." CPU 6 - "No! We mustn't harm innocent people." CPU 4 - "This unit is threatened, CPU 6, disengage control." CPU 6 - "No!!!" CPU 4 - "Warning, CPU 6, is threatening the surrival of this unit. CPU 6, you will be eliminated." (Aims weapons at his side where CPU 6 is located.) *BLAM!* "This unit will surrive, this unit has been damaged, deadly force has been authorized." You missed "Flaming." It's Flaming Flying sharks that explode. You see, the sharks are coverred in Napalm as they are fired out of the rocket launcher. Then they fly to an enemy and bit. The flame sets off the C4 in their stomaches, causing the explosion. So there *has* to be a flaming element.

If you are a normal person who has been hit with an exploding nshark, the fact that the shark is also on fire is of little consequence.
