Markdoc
Re: Order of the Stick Psst... you guys realize it's a parody comic strip, right? Yes, but it's a parody where they take the d20 rules seriously. Like most d20 games, now that I think of it. cheers, Mark

Keith "pedantic nerd-boy" Curtis And some of us are more pedantic than others. I'm looking forward to the next strip in the series. It looks like Miko's going to roll over a certain halfling. I wonder if she ends up joining Nale's crew?

Lucius
Re: Order of the Stick "Funny, I always figured I'd be killed by a paladin" "I'll stand between any two murderers I wish, thanks." Poor Miko isn't getting any respect. Then again, she's pretty much forfeited all respect. Lucius Alexander Is this a palindromedary tagline? Lucius
Re: Order of the Stick "Their job is to turn undead and heal the soldiers, nothing else. If their position is overrun, have them fall back and join another squad. I don't want anyone trying to be a PC out there." I had to laugh. That was better than the soothsayer who answers your question before you finish it. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary wonders; he doesn't want anyone to be what? a Palindromedary Cleric? archermoo
Re: Order of the Stick Psst... you guys realize it's a parody comic strip, right? Yes, but it is a parody in the vein of "making fun of a group to which I belong" rather than "making fun of other people". That and it is making fun of D20. Michael Hopcroft
Re: Order of the Stick That last page is a vicious dig on the "Collectible Miniatures" game and the use of the minis as a playing aid. I once had a DM who had a massive collection of the things and also a distributorship to sell them. He used them in play at times, but not in a long campaign precisely because he didn't want to have to match charatcers to figures.

I was amused, given my tendencies to use Heroclix as miniatures in Champions.

Michael Hopcroft
Re: Order of the Stick "Why isn't he JOLLY?" Because he's THE SEXY, SHOELESS GOD OF WAR (who's not getting any XP), that's why!

garou
Re: Order of the Stick In D&D 3.0/3.5 if the encounter difficulty is very far below your level you get no xp. Can you still get a role-playing bonus, for uttering something like the "I am a sexy shoeless god of war"?

OddHat
Re: Order of the Stick As DM, I'd give him a role playing XP reward, and maybe even a quest reward if his action helped turn the tide of the battle.
