The Beverly Hillbillies

Recommended Posts

Re: The Beverly Hillbillies

I must admit, I'm curious to see how Ellie turns out. For that matter, Grannie was a tough bird herself. I remember an episode involving pro wrestling where an angry Grannie beat up a whole tag team all by herself.

Hmm, after Beverly Hillbillies, maybe you could do Hogan's Heroes?

No, I think Pettycoat Junction and Green Acres are next.

Ghost & Mrs. Muir? Gilligan's Island of course. I Dream of Jeanie and Bewitched would make viable urban fantasies.

My Mother the Car? (Too easy).

While we are on the subject of BH though, don't forget the monstrous Billiyard: "Well, this here is a 'Billiyard Room' and that there is a 'Billiyard Table," so we reckon that there (Jed points to a mounted rhino head) must be a Billiyard."

Re: The Beverly Hillbillies

Ellie May was tougher than Jethro in a fight that's for certain. She won regularly and to the point their fights were often broken up for his sake, not her's. :)

Re: The Beverly Hillbillies

Hmm. Their Mansion "base" would have been incredibly tough.

Look at all the stuff it underwent during the show - people and things crashing through walls and doors, or splash-landing in the cee-ment pond, Granny's still and Ellie-May's cooking (think about what THEY would do to the house's plumbing!), and so on.

Re: The Beverly Hillbillies

All the Clampetts are exceptional shots, Jed in particular seems able with the a gun but Jethro and the rest are not far behind. In one episdoe Jed and Jethro was having a llittle using bullets to drive nails into a board... using a large rock richochet the bullets to their target at 100 yards. Jed was using a pistol and stopped because "They weren't no sport to it at this distance".

If I remember, Ellie didnt use a gun. But was a crackshot with a slingshot.

Re: The Beverly Hillbillies

I think you are going to need to give Elly May a WF:Slingshot and a few levels with it.

In one episode they were skeet shooting and that is what she used.

A slingshot, to shoot at a fast-moving target, a fair distance away from her!

KA.

Re: The Beverly Hillbillies

Great point re slingshot, thanks!

Just saw this thread. I'll have to look through your Elly May more, here's mine, having done it earlier for sitcom heroes: http://realschluss.org/marginally_powered_sitcom_heroes/Fantasy_Island_Versions/Elly%20May%20Clampett.HTML

I chose to make her stronger as sometimes the Clampetts could do insanely, comic-booky strong things. I was a little heavier on her animal relationship ability with the Animal Friendship and Beast Speech but left Animal Handler out as I rationalized it's really an outgrowth of her ability to communicate.

Re: The Beverly Hillbillies

I'd also make Granny stronger, or at least give her a Hand-to-Hand attack. She did once beat up three pro wrestlers at once, and with very humiliating (for the wrestlers) ease. She was a tough old lady.

And shouldn't she have Mrs. Drysdale as an Enemy? The whole family could, as far as that goes.
