death tribble
Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. A duo of dynamic dames, thematically arranged around snake and spider. Storn
Re: excuses Here is a blast from my past. One of the trends I notice about myself is much of my artwork is NDA (non disclosure agreement)... and by the time the art is published and I can share it, I've moved on and forgotten about it. I don't think I ever shared these publicly. If I have, well, forgive my senior moment. And while they are several years old, it was the beginning of my style of coloring digital "watercolor" over my pencil, letting the pencil texture bleed through here and there. I did these for Mongoose Conan supplements. And I've always had a soft spot for them. I really love the Conan books as a kiddo and it was really exciting to get to put my spin on these characters. These are NOT creative commons, copyright Mongoose Games.

Storn
Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. A couple more fantasy bits. First up a duo of a deep gnome and deep dwarf. Private commission. Next is yet another ArtOrder blog challenge. This time, for the ultimate fighter! There was 71 entries, including this one. My concept is that this guy is such a bad ass that he can kick your ass without even seeing you. While 71 entries are a ton to wade through, there are some real gems. The link to ArtOrder is here: http://theartorder.com/2011/04/11/ultimate-fighter-challenge-line-up/ And my entry: These works are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 License. Grond
Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Thank you very much. I have found the Picasa page, yet I can0t figure out which one it is: http://picasaweb.google.com/keith.pepin/Storn_Cook_Artwork?authkey=RnYyHidE7KU# Since I haven0t seen the artwork before I have really no clue. I see a ninja-like character but that's definitely not looking like Stormwatch...

Grond
Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Hi Keith! I was looking for a picture of Stormwatch, Destroyer's ninja servant in Day of the Destroyer. I understand from the thread that Storn did an illustration and renamed it Stormwatch. I was looking for a picture of Stormwatch' date=' Destroyer's ninja servant in Day of the Destroyer. I understand from the thread that Storn did an illustration and renamed it Stormwatch.[/quote'] Grond: Sorry mate, all of the pictures I've collected are from this thread and a few select locations that Storn provided links to showing off other illustrations of his, and they are all copyright free, so there's no harm in my collecting them. I'm not sure I could legally scan my copy of Day of the Destroyer for the pic in question (assuming I can find it in there... haven't pulled that adventure out in a while). I'll check to see if I can find a picture of the image in question anyway, but that's why it wouldn't be included in the collections I've put together so far... Myrlyn
Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Storn: I just caught the blog post by Louis Porter Jr. regarding the free Portfolio products of your artwork coming to RPGnow.com (http://lpjd.blogspot.com/2011/04/not-sure-about-about-picking-up-new.html and http://lpjd.blogspot.com/2011/04/lpj-design-storn-cook-team-up-to-do-new.html respectively). Grond
Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Stormwatch was renamed Stormwatch? What am I missing? Argh! I meant that by reading the board messages, it was renamed Storm Shadow in one of Storn's illustrations.

concord
Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. I believe the pic he is talking about is named SSloRes.jpg The date I have for the image is April 2008 but I can't find a post with the pic. That may have been when I saved it from Photobucket. ---edit--- Yep that was the day I saved it from Photobucket. The original post is here, http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php/463-Storn-s-Art-amp-Characters-thread.?p=700514#post700514 but alas, no picture. Myrlyn do you have this one on your site? Storn
Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. There is a really exciting challenge over at ArtOrder, Eowyn vs. the Nazgul King..here at this link (be warned, it is many pages, many images, as this is a WiP thread): http://artorder.ning.com/forum/topics/eowyn-and-the-nazgul I have a local comic convention this weekend, and I haven't done comics in quite some time. So, instead of competing head to head with all the unbelievable painters, I decided to play to my strengths; my pencils and my action. Just so you don't have to sift through the entire thread for my stuff... I will condense it here: Some prelim doodles My thumbs for the 2 pages First page 2nd page

casualplayer
Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. I like the depiction of an Eowyn who is unwilling to back down in the face of the Witch King's hyperbole about "no man" rather than one that is exploiting an ovaries loophole. There's a woman to catch Aragorn's eye.
teh bunneh
Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. I mentioned this in the other thread, but kudos on the inclusion of Meriadoc stabbing the Witch-King in the knee. Lots of illustrators forget that little detail!
