Cancer
Re: Make Your Own Motivational Poster Every time I am reminded of that incident, I am glad that it was before my time. SteveZilla
Re: Make Your Own Motivational Poster As I recall it, there were two sock-pupper accounts, "Kara Zor-El" and "Rachel", held by a person with the account of (iirc) "Fred". The sheer scope of this person's decption, ongoing for years, put many people off their guard. And it wasn't just here, but also on ICQ. Added to that, a friend of mine could vouch for the existence of "Fred", as he was helping support my friend's large Hero-oriented gaming website by paying the server fees. "Kara" & "Rachel" had quite different personalities, to boot. Edit: Ah, the person was named Fred, the account was Howard t. Duck.

I came to the boards after all the "Rachel and Kara" stuff' date=' but can anyone explain it to me?[/quote'] Short version: A guy named Fred Bittick pretended to be two hot lesbian gamer chicks over quite a long time, using pics from a pr0n site for themselves and "befriending" numerous people on these boards. When Fred's deception was finally uncovered, there were a lot of bad feelings. Here's the thread where the deception was first explained, around page 2 or so. Enforcer84
Re: Make Your Own Motivational Poster It's rather depressing actually. Fred kept the charade up for over six years on several different sites IIRC.

And he picked up the charade a few years ago again at a comic book forums. Fred seems to have some issues.

Mister E
Re: Make Your Own Motivational Poster I am a hot lesbian gamer. Why? Because only other hot lesbian gamers can satisfy my hot lesbian gamer appetites. I was born and raised a hot lesbian gamer. Think about it. What would you do? Seriously, the HERO Boards are full of hot lesbian gamers looking for other hot lesbian gamers. It's unreal. Being a hot lesbian gamer is my choice. I can't stand being with non-hot non-lesbian non-gamers. Don't even try not being a hot lesbian gamer on the HEROINE Boards. For reals. It would not go well like on the HERO Boards. ~ Mister E ("Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit the HEROINE Boards.")

I think Hermit found Kara and Rachel on a Comic book site. Batgirl and Supergirl avatars the whole nine yards. It's possible those two really exist in "cousin fred's" head. Doesn't matter, that poster, if it was or wasn't Fred, either got a new handle, or left years ago.

My wife stilll thinks we are ridiculous to have been taken in at all. I try to explain that plausability increased with duration, but it's hard to imagine without having been here. Poor Fred - stuck in himself with noi one to talk to.
