Re: Make Your Own Motivational Poster

... After being out of school for almost 30 years' date=' I have to ask: How did the nerd become cool ...[/quote']

When we nerds could no longer get laid because of it.

If you don't get it, you aren't as big of a nerd as you think you are.

... and the cool kids become --- so damn old?

When they could no longer get laid because of being cool.

If you do get it, you aren't as cool as you think you are.

The last couple of years' date=' I've been getting this cool Reed Richards graying around the temples thing goin' on. I kinda dig it, actually.[/quote']

Yesterday, I found my first gray pubic hair. Normally, something like that wouldn't bother me, but...

it was in the mashed potatoes.

Re: Make Your Own Motivational Poster

No gray hair at 40 but it's certainly showing more scalp between the follicles these days, certain light makes me sad.

But no bald spots per se. I can see where it may happen though in the near future.

Thank you all for giving me this moment of awesome where I refrain from saying anything about my hair without it seeming a boast (see what I mean? Even that sounded boastful!)

Oh! Oh! I know! "When Mattingly forgot how to spell "pubic" there was "L" to pay!"

ETA: Sorry, I just couldn't restrain the urge this time. :eg:

That is nothin'! I recall a short article on the front page of out newspaper about 15-17 years ago; the current pope thinks AC/DC stands for Antichrist/Death of Christ. In truth the Young's took the suggestion from their sibling who got it from the family sewing machine.

I could have sworn it was A nti-Christ/Devil's Children.

Re: Make Your Own Motivational Poster

Like so many things, people read into it what they want to, it seems.

In radio communications, all messages start and end with the letters "BT" (Bravo Tango, phonetically.) There were many theories of what it meant (Begin Transmission? No, the transmission began with the call up...). Turns out, that in morse code "BT" is very distinctive (_..._) and has no meaning beyond the letters themselves.

Same thing with SOS. Eventually people thought it meant Save Our Ships, but it was really just a very quick and distinct Morse code combo.

Am I old because I want to correct the first post on that list in the pic...

It's not "kings" in Satan's service, it's "knights" in Satan's service.

(Actually, it's neither, but the most commonly understood version is "knights".)
