AmadanNaBriona
Anyone else catch this on Cartoon network? I liked it. It reminded me of some of the one-off fantasy games my Richard Corbin obsessed friend used to run back in the day. Kinda Groo the Wanderer meets Den of Earth. keithcurtis
Re: Korgoth of Barbaria It was an interesting once kind of thing. I'm not sure it will stand to repeated watchings. Keith "Or that my stomach can" Curtis
AmadanNaBriona
Re: Korgoth of Barbaria The lead henchman rolling a pair of 12 siders and consulting a handwritten chart to see which henchman would go approach the barbarian was a cute bit. Edsel
Re: Korgoth of Barbaria I had heard somewhere that this was a pilot episode that might be developed into a series. However, I just conducted a fruitless websearch which failed to yield any more information.
Dale A. Ward
Re: Korgoth of Barbaria Supposedly, new episodes are in production... but they've been saying that for 2 months.
Steve
Re: Korgoth of Barbaria Bit Torrent is a wonderful thing. I downloaded the episode to watch. Yes, it had a strong Heavy Metal movie feel to it, and it was like a Conan story on crack.
teh bunneh
Re: Korgoth of Barbaria I described it to my friend as: "Imagine if Robert Howard and Ralph Bakshi went on a romantic cruise through the world of Thundarr the Barbarian. The unholy offspring that resulted from that union was then raised in the Venture Compound. That is Korgoth of Barbaria."

Wolfgar
Re: Korgoth of Barbaria It's looking really good. I hope they do more with it. It's nice that while yeah, it was full of gags and such, the basic plot was serious and coherent. For me that's a step in the right direction. Most of my favorite comedy is of that style, and a lot of the toons have gotten away from it.
Captain Obvious
Re: Korgoth of Barbaria So, when is this show on? Sounds interesting, especially with the serious-plot-but-full-of-gags thing...very Popeye-esque.
Tarek
Re: Korgoth of Barbaria It was a pilot episode. The program guide on my cable company had it labeled as "Pilot" where the episode name usually is shown. It's in the Adult Swim block of Cartoon Network, so really late at night. And I have no idea whether they're repeating the pilot or not. Thundarr the Barbarian in the style of Conan, as envisioned by the Venture Brothers. That sounds about right. keithcurtis
Re: Korgoth of Barbaria I wouldn't put it in the same camp as Venture Brothers. They're not usually that blatant and cartoony about the violence. I'd replace VB with Heavy Metal.
