teh bunneh
Re: Online game:Who wants to buckle some swash? Didja ever go to a goth Dia de los Muertos party and come home wearing someone else's contact lenses? I've gone home wearing someone else's shirt, pants, and/or panties at one point or another, but never someone's contacts. I guess I'm a prude -- I'd never swap eye-juice with a stranger. Anyone stuck for ideas? I need a naval officer and the ship's cat hasn't been spoken for. Ah dude! I didn't know the ship's cat was still open! I totally had an idea for that! Bill. (Actually, I'm not kidding... I had this idea for a lusty tomcat were-kitty).

Many of the old legends of werewolves are actually because of the Lykan clan, because all Lykans are shape-shifters -- noble were-lions, mighty were-bears, powerful were-eagles, and of course fearsome were-wolves. David, the youngest son of the current patriarch of the clan, is a huge disappointment to his family. He is a were-cat. Not a graceful were-panther, or a stealthy were-jaguar, nor a fierce were-tiger -- just a simple, harmless were-housecat. Because his family is ashamed of his existence, he was sent away to the university – not so much to get an education as to keep his taint out of the sight of his family. He found that he enjoyed the life of the lay-about, rakish university student, and excelled at almost every aspect of it – drinking, staying up late, pitching woo… pretty much everything except going to class. When his father heard of his slipping grades, he cut off David's stipend. Unwilling to give up the life he had come to enjoy so well, David took to utilizing his "special skills" to acquire enough funds to maintain his standard of living. But he grew careless and was caught red-handed in the act of robbing a lovely young noblewoman of her virtue and her jewelry. His parents, shamed by David's reprehensible behavior, disowned him, and he faced the gallows. Unfortunately, jail cells designed to hold human prisoners are useless for holding cats, and David fled. He boarded the first ship he could find (stowing away as the ship's cat) and headed for the New World. Since that time, he's been bumming around the Caribbean, finding his fortune where he can. He is rather unhappy about losing his cushy life, and wants to get it back as soon as he can -- whatever it takes. He travels from island to island by sneaking aboard ships in cat form. Most recently, he came aboard the Black Rose, expecting nothing but a ride to the next port... Personality/Motivation: Charming, handsome, worldly, and debonair, David is a true lady's man. When he turns up the charm, he is practically irresistible; the fact that he is (was) a wealthy nobleman's son only helps matters. Unfortunately, since he's fallen on hard times lately he's been forced to use his more esoteric skills to make a living – he is a cat-burglar (forgive the pun) par excellence, and has no qualms about "borrowing" funds from those who can spare them. Quote: Powers/Tactics: David is a fair swordsman and knows which end of a gun is the dangerous one, but he'd rather not fight if he can help it. If he finds himself cornered, he has a surprise at hand -- his cat-like retractable claws, which can do a number on his enemies. Campaign Use: David is a very good sneak-thief and spy; his were-form only makes him even more effective at that job. Appearance: David is a very handsome young man with black hair and blue eyes -- the kind of man the ladies swoon over. He dresses fashionably and well, carrying himself as a nobleman (even though he no longer is). In his were-form, he is a sleek black cat with bright blue eyes. Equipment: Fancy Nobleman's Clothes, Rapier, Pistol

hooligan x
Re: Online game:Who wants to buckle some swash? With 3 characters ready to go, we will have to postpone the start date for a week. I will be starting next Sunday, as soon as that crappy Home Makeover show starts. I'll set up the game before that and ask you all to sumbit your characters. DO NOT SUBMIT HD FILES TO HEROCENTRAL! It effs them all up and it sucks to read. If you have HD, export it to a txt file and upload that to the HeroCentral game. It will tell you it won't work, but it will. My co-workers are slow getting their characters done, but they said something about getting to level 60 before the expansion pack came out, whatever that means. hooligan x
Re: Online game:Who wants to buckle some swash? This just in; one of the cubicle girls has decided to base her character on the Decemberists' song The Mariner's Revenge. Which goes a little something like this: "The Mariner's Revenge Song" We are two mariners Our ship's sole survivors In this belly of a whale It's ribs are ceiling beams It's guts are carpeting I guess we have some time to kill You may not remember me I was a child of three And you, a lad of eighteen But, I remember you And I will relate to you How our histories interweave At the time you were A rake and a roustabout Spending all your money On the whores and hounds (oh, oh) You had a charming air All cheap and debonair My widowed mother found so sweet And so she took you in Her sheets still warm with him Now filled with filth and foul disease As time wore on you proved A debt-ridden drunken mess Leaving my mother A poor consumptive wretch (oh, oh) And then you disappeared Your gambling arrears The only thing you left behind And then the magistrate Reclaimed our small estate And my poor mother lost her mind Then, one day in spring My dear sweet mother died But, before she did I took her hand as she, dying, cried: (oh, oh) "Find him, Bind him Tie him to a pole and break His fingers to splinters Drag him to a hole until he Wakes up naked Clawing at the ceiling Of his grave" It took me fifteen years To swallow all my tears Among the urchins in the street Until a priory Took pity and hired me To keep their vestry nice and neat But, never once in the employ Of these holy men Did I ever, once turn my mind From the thought of revenge (oh, oh) One night I overheard The prior exchanging words With a penitent whaler from the sea The captain of his ship Who matched you toe to tip Was known for wanton cruelty The following day I shipped to sea With a privateer And in the whistle Of the wind I could almost hear (oh, oh) "Find him, Bind him Tie him to a pole and break His fingers to splinters Drag him to a hole until he Wakes up naked Clawing at the ceiling Of his grave There is one thing I must say to you As you sail across the sea Always, your mother will watch over you As you avenge this wicked deed" And then, that fateful night We had you in our sight After twenty months at sea Your starboard flank abeam I was getting my muskets clean When came this rumbling from beneath The ocean shook The sky went black And the captain quailed And before us grew The angry jaws Of a giant whale (oh..) Don't know how I survived The crew all was chewed alive I must have slipped between his teeth But, oh, what providence What divine intelligence That you should survive As well as me It gives my heart great joy To see your eyes fill with fear So lean in close And I will whisper The last words you'll hear (oh, oh)

teh bunneh
Arrr, mateys! I believe that I originally uploaded an MS Word file to the Thunderbolts game. Keep in mind though, that after your original submission you won't be able to upload anything other than an HD3 file. I'll post Felix and see if it still works... EDIT: Drat, no. Looks like Dan retooled Herocentral to only accept HD3 files. I can't even upload my HD2 file. Bill.

Savinien
Re: Online game:Who wants to buckle some swash? As long as the file is uploaded with HDv3... Anyone can read/see the file with the new formatting. The HD application resides on the server. Just make one of the players (with HDv3) GM for a bit and they can upload the finished product. hooligan x
Re: Online game:Who wants to buckle some swash? So HD3 it is. That's a feature I don't care for in an otherwise sweet program. So, a lot of folks want on the boat. Since I neglected to post a player restriction notice in the campaign info, I will be taking walk-ins. However, timely forum members will be given favorable treatment. If your HC name and your forum name differ, PM me so I know who you are. We set sail on Sunday, me hearties! After that, we can pick up new crew as needed in any port. If you don't make the first round pick, be patient.

Not really sure what to do but I think the version of the HD might be a problem, I created it in HD3 but then opened and saved it in HD2 subsequently. I"ll have to deal with it later today/tonight.
