Re: Susano's Song-Based DC NPCs

Here's a couple of ideas for some song-based DC NPCs:

Space Monkey Mafia: From the Billy Joel song "We Didn't Start The Fire"; and yes, I

know that the line in the song is referring to two different things, but they go togeth-

er in a weird sort of way, especially if it's for a DC/SH campaign.

Cool...and stolen.

I do have to admit, though, the first time that I heard that particular line, the image

that came to mind was of a chimpanzee and a gorilla dressed like the mobster char-

acters from the old Looney Tunes cartoon with Bugs Bunny.

clyde the camel

One thing that Clyde should definitely have is enough inches of Running to outrun your

average, run-of-the-mill camel (or an entire army of said camels intent upon re-enact-

ing the Charge of the Rohirrim). And let's not forget to give poor Clyde enough END to

fuel that Running for just long enough to get his passengers across the border, and

away from the Sultan's army ( ).

A CHALLENGE! I considered doing this one, but I've got too many other things to work on right now, so I'm posting these lyrics here for anyone who'd like to do a character based on this song. I suspect the final result may be on par with Dr. Destroyer....

ATOM BOMB

lyrics by Fluke

Baby's got an atom bomb

A motherf*****g atom bomb

Twenty two megaton

You've never seen so much fun

Baby got a poison gas

Baby got a heart attacks

Baby got a pain on tap

Baby gimme some of that

Baby got a nobel prize

Given for the perfect crime

Baby got an alibi

Baby got eight more lives

Baby got a satellite

Baby got second sight

Baby got a master plan

A foolproof master plan

Baby got purple hair

Baby got a secret lair

Baby got an army there

I ain't ever seen baby scared

(Gimme some of that)

(Gimme some of that)

Baby got a crystal ball

Baby doesn't care at all

Baby's having too much fun

Baby got an atom bomb

Baby got a fleet at sea

And a submarine called Emergency

She got a motorcade

She got a monorail

Going coast to coast on a campaign trail

Playing deck of cards in an armored car

She got a kung fu star as a bodyguard

She got a juju charm

She got a magic spell

She got a genie all three is working well

She got a tv show

She got a shopping mall

She got a miracle, she doesn't want at all

She got a monument at a great expense

She got a head of state and a president

She got destiny, she got supremacy

She got everything from A - Z

She got it all down tight, she got nothing wrong

She got the whole wide world singing baby's song

And here's the music video:

The drummer boy from Dire Straits' The Man's too Strong would make a good villain.

Picture an ex military leader, charismatic and persuasive to the point of mind control. Flush with misappropriated cash, a fanatical army at his command and his own compound

I'm just an aging drummer boy PS Musician
And in the wars I used to play Combat Skill Levels; Tactics
And I've called the tune Military Rank
To many a torture session Interrogation
Now they say I am a war criminal Distinctive Features
And I'm fading away Age Reduced CHR

I have legalised robbery Bureaucratics; Perks: Govt official, Low Justice
Called it belief +PRE; Charm
I have run with the money Security Systems (evading)
I have hid like a thief Stealth and Concealment
I have re-written history KS: History; Oratory
With my armies of my crooks Followers
Invented memories Persuasion; Mind Control
I did burn all the books Suppress KS
And I can still hear his laughter perk: connected
And I can still hear his song Psych Lim Haunted
The man's too big
The man's too strong Hunted by The Man

Well I have tried to be meek
And I have tried to be mild Psych Lim: Agressive
But I spat like a woman
And I sulked like a child
I have lived behind walls Base
That have made me alone
Striven for peace
Which I never have known Soc Limitation: Warrior
And I can still hear his laughter
And I can still hear his song
The man's too big
The man's too strong

Well the sun rose on the courtyard
And they all did hear him say
You always was a Judas Negative Reputation
But I got you anyway
You may have got your silver Perk: Wealthy
But I swear upon my life

I am almost surprised nobody has suggested a couple of shapeshifter/shaman characters from the Beatles

Boris the Spider

I am the Walrus

What surprised me is that I finally did.

Boris is a song by The Who' date=' and has nothing to do with a shape shifter. As for [i']I am the Walrus, I'm not sure if you can do anything with that.

It wasn't easy!!

But nothing is too strange for Lucius Alexander!

Seconded.

Wouldn't touch the Walrus with a 10' pole unless you want to stat up John Lennon for some reason. :)

As for Boris, surely that are stats for spiders in the Bestiary or something that would cover it.

David

Oddly enough I posted a spider here but based on "Itsy Bitsy Spider."

But never mind that - on to my bizarre Champions character!

300+ Disadvantages

250 Base Points

10 Distinctive Features: If the sun don't come you get a tan from standing in the English rain (Concealable; Noticed and Recognizable; Detectable By Commonly-Used Senses; Normal form is bizarre to Humans, and even when in Human shape, is often - not quite right)

15 Hunted: Pretty little policemen in a row Very Frequently (As Pow; NCI; Limited Geographical Area; PC has a Public ID or is otherwise very easy to find; Watching)

5 Rivalry: Professional (See how they smile, like pigs in a sty; Rival is As Powerful; Seek to Outdo, Embarrass, or Humiliate Rival; Rival Aware of Rivalry; Rivalry with other detectives)

10 Boy, you been a naughty girl, you let your knickers down: Shapechanging, including possible gender switching; confusion about true gender or if it even HAS gender; plus natural form has TENTACLES. , Infrequently (Extreme: "Refugee from a hentai manga")

0 Stupid bloody Tuesday: Ruby Tuesday Frequently (As powerful as the PC; Useful Noncombat Position or Skills (assigned partner))

10 They are the Egg Men: Misses home dimension and own people (Uncommon; Strong)

Total Disadvantage Points: 300

Background/History: Semolina Pilchard was a law enforcement officer in a largely aquatic world in another dimension. When he (she? it?) became stranded in Britain, she (he? it?) was first granted asylum as a refugee because no one knew how to send it (she? he?) home, and then eventually was allowed to work as a police officer again - partly because Scotland Yard was anxious to acquire "superpowered" officers to deal with the rising rate of "exotic" crimes.

Personality/Motivation: According to the consulting xenopsychologist assigned to Detective Pilchard: Mr. Pilchard shares many traits with the typical Human who goes into detective work. Also, his original culture was spacefaring, or in contact with spacefaring civilizations, accustoming him to other life forms, including some rather like Humans. These factors bode well for his adjustment to his new situation. Further, he credits his relative serenity and acceptance of circumstances to some religion or philosophy that seems to bear an affinity for our Eastern traditions, and speaks sometimes of an underlying identity or unity of all beings. We may confuse or irritate him at times but his fundamental attitude is tolerant of difference. But there can be no doubt that he misses his own kind and would return home if he could.

Quote: I am the Egg Man.

Powers/Tactics: Detective Pilchard's ability to change shape and size, and to travel by air and water, makes her a living "bug." Part of the friction between Pilchard and her partner Tuesday is Pilchard's impatience with the necessity of getting a warrant before sneaking into some place to search or to eavesdrop. As a combatant, however, she is underpowered for her point level.

Campaign Use: At 250 base points plus 50 pts in Complications, The Walrus is very close to the standards for a "low powered" superhero. How it came to be in a superhero version of England is deliberately left vague so as to enable players to create a backstory in keeping with their campaigns.

Appearance: Natural form is a walrus like alien, long bodied, with large flippers, and tentacles sprouting from under the flippers that split near the end to form four fingered "hands."

The song "I am the Walrus" is by the Beatles. The character of Detective Semolina Pilchard and this character sheet is by
