The Dollar trilogy: A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

They remade the western genre, and they're still a great watch.

You might like this then:

Been watching the Sasuke/Ninja Warrior marathon while working out. This is officially the best work out TV ever.

Watching it as I am typing this. It is The Women of Ninja Warrior right now :sneaky:

Re: What Have You Watched Recently?

Pan's Labyrinth. A brilliant' date=' sadly beautiful journey into nightmare. If I was even more pretentious than I already seem to be, I would say it was lyrical. I will soon own it, so that I can watch it again and again.[/quote']

I don't usually go to see movies in the theater more than once. I went to see that one when it first opened, and again when it spread to another theater in town. Happily. As much as the bloody parts squick me out, I love how much more I noticed the second time through, and that I still feel like I didn't take it all in.

Tentatively, I'm calling that my favorite movie from the past decade.

Saw Tasogare Seibei' date=' or, [i']The Twilight Samurai[/i], yesterday. Very good samurai movie, though a bit lacking in swordfights. I want more movies like it.

I love this movie and own it on DVD. I wept like a baby the fist time I saw it a few years ago, but then again I'm a bit of a softy. It does take a little while to pick up, but I think the pacing and tone are pefect for the subject matter. The main character is so sympathetic that you end up cheering out loud for him. Okay, maybe that was just me cheering out loud.

Re: What Have You Watched Recently?

Watched most of the Firefly DVD set I bought. I can understand why most fans say this show was killed by the executives at Fox.

Now watch Serenity. It will make a lot more sense.

I have seen Serenity already. I liked it.

Didn't mean to say you hadn't. Several of my friends who had never seen the series but did see the movie went back and rewatched the movie after completing the series. They all agreed they got twice as much out of the movie and noticed a lot of things that had just slid by because they didn't have a frame of reference. Especially the in-jokes. If you watch the movie after finishing the series is seems to be betterer :D

Re: What Have You Watched Recently?

Recently I've been watching, and enjoying, Dinner: Impossible on the Food Network. Chef Robert Irvine gets challenged to prepare gourmet meals on a short timeline, and in some rather odd locations.

After watching several episodes of this, I'd love to have him cook dinner for me sometime. But I also wouldn't want to work for him.
