csyphrett
Watched Kundo- Village of Robin Hoods take on corrupt lords of the land. They are decimated when they take on Lord Joo, the land demon. CES
L. Marcus
The Martian. A very good movie; four outta five. Biggest drawback is its predictability, and as drawbacks go it's a big one. Pros: almost everything else.
Michael Hopcroft
It's just like clockwork. The moment anyone says "It will all turn out fine now if nothing catastrophic happens", something catastrophic always happens. It's a law of moviemaking. Nolgroth
Old Boy (American version) - I have not seen the original, but the duplication of the endurance run scene didn't seem as raw. I've seen the original endurance fight on Youtube, Lots of squick in the movie. Not convinced that Josh Brolin was suited for the part but he did okay. The entire move was "okay" without being good. Spence
The Martian. A very good movie; four outta five. Biggest drawback is its predictability, and as drawbacks go it's a big one. Pros: almost everything else. Sometimes predictability can be a strength. While you may have a strong idea of what is coming, did they deliver it well? I haven't seen it yet, but even the cons are not really cons so far
SKJAM!
"Young Black Jack" over at the Crunchyroll website. It's a prequel to the Blackjack manga by Osamu Tezuka, set in the 1960s when our hero was an intern. Presumably we will get actual character development for Megumi when she appears, before the horrible thing that we know happens.
death tribble
Various episodes of NCIS, NCIS New Orleans, NCIS Los Angeles and the Murdoch Mysteries. And Antiques Roadshow which was from Plymouth (home !) last night. Also a dreadful Western called Five Bloody Graves. We are talking Ed Wood bad. Also various episodes of Hercules, Xena Warrior Princess and The Invaders.
Nolgroth
The major sea battles from Master and Commander. As I have never been in such a battle, I cannot attest to their authenticity, but they seemed realistic and gritty. I've been on a pirate kick every since playing Assassin's Creed IV. Ternaugh
Seventh Son - It's greatest sin is that it's frequently boring, often in the action sequences. Well and truly earned its Rotten Tomatoes score of 12%.
death tribble
To Hell and Back, the autobiography of Audie Murphy. Seeing it again you are reminded that it is not a propaganda piece so a lot of it is small scale that fits into a bigger picture. You also get a real admiration for someone who did not let his lack of education or his health issues stop him from doing his bit.
L. Marcus
The original release version of Star Wars (no Episodes here!) -- still good, cheesy fun.
Ternaugh
Return to Oz -- A bit of nightmare fodder that I thankfully only found as an adult (it's not really suitable for young kids). Most of the plot is taken from the second and third Oz books (The Marvelous Land of Oz and Ozma of Oz), and it's a much darker take on the source material than the 1939 musical. Beware the Wheelers! Ternaugh
"Airport". You could have a really good drinking game every time "707" gets mentioned or shown. My favorite scene (which would have worked in "Airplane!"):

death tribble
No. Not on anything I have access to. The Zygon double bill from Dr Who which was interesting. Earth vs the Flying Saucers where the effects are a bit primitive. The first two discs of The Arrow season 3 and Olly has just been killed by Ras and Vinnie Jones is causing havoc in Star City. Agents of Shield season 2 and I have bits to go back over especially episode 1. But Blizzard has gone for a swim, the Absorbing Man has been given to Talbot and Agent 33 got beaten up by May. Also saw Django (original version) which is really violent.

Vondy
Nude for Satan (1974). Originally, Nuda per Satan. I've been on a grindhouse exploitation flick kick of late. Some of them are so bad they're fabulous and worth a lurid crack up. This one is an Italian gothic whore, erm, horror flick. If there is a list of 10 exploitation flicks to die before you see, this should be on it. Aside from nudity and satan, I'm not sure what this movie was supposed to be about. Well, officially: "While driving through the countryside late at night, Dr. Benson finds a crashed car with a young woman hanging out of it. The doctor puts the girl in his car and drives for help to the nearest house, which turns out to be a mysterious castle. He is greeted at the door by a woman who looks exactly like the woman from the car, and she invites them both to stay for the night. The doctor soon discovers that his host is not the only one in the castle, and that this beautiful woman is concealing a terrifying secret." But the terrifying secret that I'll spoil to save your sanity is that the entire plot of this movie is played out in the first ten minutes. After that: Satan + Nudity = The Devil Wore Nada. Do yourselves a favor: TAKE A PASS.
