Hi Steve,

 

Page 320 of 5ER seems to state that Variable Limitations is an exception to the rule regarding common slot Limitations and how they can be applied to a multipower reserve.

 

Is your last post a reversal of this that will be added to the FAQ? Or am I just mis-reading the page in question completely? Either way can you clarify what the exception on page 320 is referring to?

I'm not sure I understand the confusion. What 5ER 320 says is that if a character has the same value of Limitations on each slot, but the Limitations themselves differ, he may not take that value of Limitation on the reserve, and he can't try to do an end run around this rule by applying the Variable Limitations Limitation to the reserve. Nothing in the text of 5ER 320 says that Variable Limitation can't be applied to a reserve if it is applied to all slots.
