Chad’s FGU Timeline.

Using a few resources that I have at my disposal, I have devised a timeline for my version of the FGU. This skews the “official” timelines somewhat and goes beyond the present into the future. My problems stem from the fact that as the first game out there, the Street Fighter characters we know and love are pretty old. Ken and Ryu are pushing 40. So its entirely possible that you might want to add 5 or more years to their year of birth to make them closer to the ages of their SNK Contemporaries.

Re: Fighting Game Universe Timeline v0.9

Street Fighting Universe

Right now I am concentrating on Street Fighter and King of Fighters characters. The two game franchises are very similar in style and presentation. The characters also seem more apt to interact. The fact that there is a Capcom vs. SNK game makes the whole thing better. I might also throw in some Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and World Heroes (another SNK game).

The setting is fairly modern, the birth of the 21st Century. The character archetypes are all there. There are several Criminal Organizations/Business Conglomerates to divide the world under their influence. There are also several justice minded organizations to oppose them. Mysticism runs rampant, there are mutants, cyborgs, sorcerers, supernatural beasties, demigods, demons, and robots. This type of campaign could best be described as “superheroic with a different costume code”. The heroes and villains are for the most part very open in their identities. The numerous street fighting tournaments around the world have given these heroes and villains unrivaled fame and popularity (or infamy).

A brief overview of the major (and a few minor) organizations:

The Good Guys:

Us Defense Department (The USDD) is America’s foremost defense from these odd Martial Arts super beings. They have several Field Teams of their own, the most famous of which is Colonel Guile’s “Special Forces Squadron”.

The CIA and FBI have special agents who qualify as “World Warriors” but rarely can they field more than a handful at a time.

Interpol has a surprising number of Martial Arts Adepts. Their “Grand Lions” division has been personally assembled by Chun Li to aid her in her fight against Bison’s Shadowlaw Organization.

MI-6 is British Intelligence’s best and brightest. The Delta Red Squadron led by “Wolf” Gideon is their answer (and a rather successful one) to America’s Special Forces Squadron.

Japan has only one “official” Adept organization. Dubbed the Knights of Nippon by international papers, they are a good sized group consisting of top flight warriors. Japan also has the greatest population of “unaligned” warriors.

Tiger Squadron: Chinese Secret Service has its Tiger Squadron, a huge organization of Chinese Adepts.

The Bad Guys:

Shadowlaw: Created by the infamous, megalomaniac, Lord Vega, Shadowlaw is an organization that has infiltrated the world. Their fingers are in all things criminal. Successful defections are rare and Vega’s rule is absolute. Many consider the criminal/terrorist organization to be the greatest threat to freedom in the world.

Night Lords: A small but rapidly growing criminal organization ruled by the iron fist of Shadowgeist, a comic book obsessed villain with a messiah complex. Shadowlaw has oddly enough kept its distance from this fledgling rival; perhaps Bison sees a little of himself in the over the top Shadowgiest.

The Black Bridge Army: Rolento’s mercenary forces.

The Rizing Sons: A criminal gang led by Sodom.

Iori’s Clan: Also taught Magatama, this clan is a rival to the Kusanagi, I just don’t know the name.

The Orochi: A supernaturally/demonic based organization whose agents are all “super” martial artist Adepts. A Small, but potent and fanatical cult led by the reborn Goenitz.

The Council: A loose alliance of crimelords who have gathered together for mutual protection against the forces of good and Shadowlaw. Leaders include; Geese Howard, Wolfgang Krauser, Mr. Big, Rugal, Shin Balrog, Goenitz, Urien, and Zeus.

The Demon Furies: A group of powerful assassins led by Akuma. He originally used demonic counterparts to Ryu, Charlie, Sakura, and Hokuto. However, he has trained his own assassins; theses new warriors still closely resemble other characters in dress and opposing their attitudes.

The Hidden Empire: Led by Gill, this is a new player in the game. The Empire uses a lot of strange mutants and odd warriors. Gill is said to be Immortal. Kain Heinlein is a member of the Inner Circle, as is Lawrence Blood, Kryzalid, and Ryuji Yamazaki.

NESTS: A secret organization hoping to take over the world using superior technology and cloned warriors. The NESTS are led by Igniz, Original Zero, Zero, and the Old Man.

Others:

Ninja Clans:

Bushin Clan: Led by Zeku, the clan is a small, but proud clan dedicated to the spirit of the warrior.

Guy is their current champion member.

Kojiru Clan: Led by Geki, this is Ibuki’s clan. They have been laying low for a few generations.

Shadowlaw wants Geki’s head.

Shinjiru Clan: This is the clan of Hanzo. They are nearly extinct, but Hanzo was plucked from a

Time when the clan was much stronger, he is seeking students to pass the clan heritage onto, as he is the last living master.

Shinryu Clan: This is Fuuma’s clan. A more modern clan; the Shinryu Clan has served the Japanese government for generations, supplying samurai as well as ninja. Fuuma’s great-grandfather was a friendly rival of Hanzo’s. The modern day clan acts as spies (ninja) and bodyguards (samurai) for the Emperor.

Kijentetsu Clan: this is Stryder and Eiji Kisaragi’s clan.

Shiranuri Clan: this is Mai’s clan; her baby brother is a member as well.

Non Ninja:

The Lillian Knights: A group of Rogues and ne’er-do-wells, led by Bonne Janet

Kusanagi Clan: A clan of warriors. The current cream of the clan is Ryo Kusanagi, they are trained in the Magatama style of martial arts.

I started all this years ago. All is subject to change. :)

December 17th 1960, Jian Zangan begins training students in his own style of Kung Fu.

Feb 17th, 1971 Duncan Reese Born in United States.

March 6th, 1975 Sabin and Edgar Figaro born in Italy.

June 13th, 1985 Tifa Lockhart born in Hong Kong.

Feb 17th, 1987 Zell Dincht born in Germany.

Re: Fighting Game Universe Timeline v0.9

Do you want me to make a section for it in "Worldbooks"?

(Several of them aren't mine.)

That was my hope. I was going to file all the serial numbers off and make my own generic Fighting Game world but I changed my mind thinking a) I'd never self publish it, and B) this would be more fun.

(Wait till you see some of the other characters I'd adding to the world)

Here's a suggestion on the whole age thing -- if you have this much chi (i.e. sufficent to throw fireballs and the like), you get at least 1 point of LS: Longevity.

I Know Tifa and Zell Dincht' date=' but I feel stupid asking who are the others. *sigh*[/quote']

Zangan is the name of the master who taught Tifa to fight in the FF7 game.

Sabin and Edgar are twin protagonists from FF6

Zell is ofcourse from FF8.

Leandro and Isabella are names I used for Monks in FFTactics. (the first game you could have male or female.

Duncan Reese I made up whole cloth.

Re: Fighting Game Universe Timeline v0.9

(By the by, if I get any of the dates wrong, as far as I know none of them are canon, let me know)

1965 - The Unites States Military contracts little known medical research firm, Storm Genetics, to create a physical enhancement serum.

November 10th, 1960 - Wilson Fisk is born.

January 1st, 1967 - Steven Rogers is born.

February 16th, 1970 - Samuel Wilson is born.

July 4th, 1976 - John Walker is born.

October 12, 1980 - Wilson Fisk returns from schooling in Japan.

December 2nd, 1979 - Barbara 'Bobbie' Morse is born.

August 16th, 1982 - Barbara Gordon is born.

March 17, 1990 - Wilson Fisk, a wealthy importer with rumored ties to organized crime joins the board of directors of Mriganka LTD. making him one of the inner circle of Shadow Law.

1993 - with the apparent destruction of M. Bison; Fisk and the other members of Shadow Law's inner circle vie for absolute power. The organization shatters under the strain and the former members of the inner circle land in various other organizations.

December 2004 - Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, John Walker, Bobbie Morse, and Barbara Gordon are entered into the Eagle Squadron program. Intense martial arts and individual training along with Storm Genetics treatments, turn the five disparate government agents into a powerful savant team.

January 9, 2006 - Wilson Fisk is reported murdered.
