Re: bourne

Well I would say he would need a higher Combat Driving, but maybe his Overall levels would just have been in that.

Electronics and System Operations: Communications. The whole cell phone trick he did in Bourne Ultimatium.

Also TF: SCUBA when he got on the boat in B.I.

Interrogation was used a few times

High Society. He was able to be a believable buyer for the yaht.

Persuasion was used a few times, and goes along with the acting.

I would also give him KS: Counter Terrorist Tactics, and/or Gov't Agency Proceedures.

For disads: In love with...What's her name. Even when she's not around she influences him and his decisions ("I'm not going to kill you because she wouldn't want me to")

He's also hunted by former KGB (I'm pretty sure that was the Jackel that was chasing him in Russia).

I haven't seen Bourne Ultimatum yet, but that's what I've got from the first two.

Quote: Who has a safety deposit box full of... money and six passports and a gun? Who has a bank account number in their hip? I come in here, and the first thing I'm doing is I'm catching the sightlines and looking for an exit. I can tell you the license plate numbers of all six cars outside. I can tell you that our waitress is left-handed and the guy sitting up at the counter weighs two hundred fifteen pounds and knows how to handle himself. I know the best place to look for a gun is the cab of the gray truck outside, and at this altitude, I can run flat out for a half mile before my hands start shaking. Now why would I know that? How can I know that and not know who I am? No, it doesn't start to come back. The knot's like everything else, I just found the rope and I did it. The same way I can, I can read, I can write. I can add, subtract. I can make coffee. I can shuffle cards. I can set up a chessboard. I swear to God, if I even feel somebody behind me, there is no measure to how fast and how hard I will bring this fight to your doorstep. I'm on my own side now.

Re: bourne

Nice call on the 3 PS: Tradecraft 13-, but I'd probably make it 15- to make it 18- with Overall Levels. That would put him as one of the best on the planet (and I'd hate to think there were others that were better than him).

Comparing the two, I'm wondering if you learned somethings or what was the reason behind a few things like:

You raised his COM but lowered his PRE, was this just gut feelings or was there reasoning?

I might add 3 SL's with all skills. I try to avoid decisions on how good a character is at one specific thing and focus on the broad suite of abilities they have. It's like the Limited Power Limitation. Everyone is going to have a different opinion on what the limitation is going to be worth for a particular build. That's good. That can easily be changed. I only care about the bigger stuff like "Do you agree that all the Advantages, Limitations and Framework construction fits the concept?".

I decided to lower his PRE to 15 since I raised his EGO from 15 to 18 to help explain how he 'broke out' of his programming and he isn't that physically imposing. His actions will give him plenty of PRE attack bonuses. COM is just the final balancer I usually use to get to an even breakpoint on the total character costl.

Re: bourne

I rented and watched the first two movies yesterday, and hopefully will see the third film in another week. Right now I'm going through all the extra features on The Bourne Supremacy DVD. I will definitely watch both again before I return them to Hollywood Video.

Very enjoyable thrillers; vastly better than the source books by Ludlum. Matt Damon was perfect for this role.
