Re: WWYCD: Out of cash

Ice Pirate still hasn't figured out the concept of money. She's always broke.

Well, I'm gonna go, then.

I don't need any of this!

I don't need this stuff!

And I don't need you!

I don't need anything!

Except this.

This ashtray.

That's the only thing I need is this!

I don't need this or this!

Just this ashtray!

And this paddle game.

The ashtray and the paddle game

and that's all I need.

And this remote control.

The ashtray, the paddle game

and the remote control. That's all I need.

And these matches.

The ashtray, these matches

the remote control and the paddle ball.

And this lamp.

The ashtray...

...this paddle game, the remote control...

...and the lamp, and that's all I need.

And that's all I need, too!

I don't need one other thing!

Not one. I need this.

The paddle game, the chair...

Re: WWYCD: Out of cash

For this to happen, two rich people need to die or become poor (or one decides not to support us anymore) and one is a PC. Assuming it happens, short term, they go to the government as they have good relations with them. Long term, Olorin starts "charging", or without anyone noticing, starts going "Robin Hood", taking from the villians and keeping it (Hey, that's what he did back home.) Definately long term, the group starts accepting reward money, and may start actively pursuing bounty hunting. (Olorin, Black Tiger and Futurian for sure, Volt probably.) Futurian may sell "advanced tech", but only to responsible parties. Olorin just might pursue one other thing. Step 1. Appear as a drug dealer. Step 2. Sell fake drugs as dealer. Step 3. Let nature take its course. He could also do the "fairy gold" bit to other bad guys (again, disguised.) He'd be in entirely too good a mood if he did this. "Who they going to tell? The Cops?"

I'm not sure my character would do it but why not simply contact the local loan shark? Depending on how much you need (he probably can't go over $100K without authorisation from a bigger boss) he can fix you up right there. Then once you've saved the town/country/world, just ask explain how much it cost you financially and the general public for financial reinbursement.

Jack of Diamonds: If anyone needs me, I'll be downstairs, winning us back some operating cash. (The Aces HQ is on a few floosr of a hotel casino.)

Riptide: Time to call Playgirl about that photoshoot.

Doctor Technon: What? No one's buying fusion reactors anymore? Or paying the maintence fees?

Sentinel: "Hello, General Wilcox, please? Bill? Its Harvey."

Balatar: *shrug*

Morning Star: What no one's buying solar powered cars anymore? Time to squeeze some coal into diamonds...

Re: WWYCD: Out of cash

Anthem: "Good morning ladies. Gents, I have some bad news: the United States just went belly-up. The President upturned the piggy bank and nothing came out. The government shuts its doors in twenty minutes. We're unemployed. People are moving to Mexico. Hey, do I smell coffee?"

Patriot: "What about Fort Knox?"

Anthem: "Its going to be liquidated to pay bad debts. Its not enough."

Patriot: "Wanna hit it and go solo? I mean, there will be choas in the streets. People are going to freak. The world order is at an end. This could get Bible bad. We'll need funds to save humanity from dark times ahead."

Anthem: "Any objections? Right then, people: lets do it."

Re: WWYCD: Out of cash

Okay' date=' team, listen up! We're broke and the next Big Bad is right around the corner. We need resources yesterday! With our experience and power, I THINK we can put what we've learned in our Sunday-afternoon Shadowrun game to good use. There's a $4 million bounty on the Coronado twins that no one has been able to collect because their mansion is across the border and defended like a fortress. We don't even have to figure out where they're hiding, just plan and execute the extraction. We'll probably want different costumes and code-names for this one.[/quote']

*laughs* I like how you think; this is the same sort of thing I'd do. If your heroes can travel the world, why not capture large bunches of 'most wanted, high bounty, too-powerful-to-grab' targets?

Freedom is the only real character of mine who had major resources (i.e. Money); unlike Reed, or Tony, or Lex, or any other common 15-point-wealth character, she didn't have an umbrella corporation. Her money was typically bought a) difficult to dispel and/or B) invisible power f/x, to show that her financial empire was both huge and concealed.

Again, a Shadowrun mindset.

Re: WWYCD: Out of cash

Not much credible for Nova, since his wealth comes from his cosmic transmutation powers. The world's economy should suddently turn rather strange, for gems and gold churned out of waste to lose all purchasing power. Anyway, in a pinch he could always sell out some slots of his healing powers, but given his noblesse oblige code of honor, he would see it as a mercenary, distasteful, dire-need recourse. Being an oversexed, hedonist, high-COM shapeshifter, it's most likely that he would rather sell some racy photos to magazines. One of the advantages of being a shapeshifter, is that you can pose as both genders in turn, double paycheck. :D

Badger-Affect would be somewhat minimal to him personally. Lives off nature in the woods outside of town. Fairly self-sufficient.

Frosty Bob- "Damn, where's my beer money? Hey, guys I got us an idea! We need to extort that Gates guy for like a couple of billion........ :doi: (after being finally convinced this was unheroic) Well, we could just take some from the drug dealers in the city. We capture'em and just kind of "lose track of some money.

Gracias. Interesting use of advantages on a Perk. I hope she doesn't take the invisibility on her wealth to such an extreme that she could pass as a bag lady. ;)
