TheQuestionMan
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects TheQuestionMan's 2008 Pet Projects are: 1. Creating a New Hero Campaign, but I am undecided on Genres. 2. Completing my RCMP Package Deals. 3. Completing my British Columbia Sourcebook. 4. Trying to get my GURPS Gaming Group to try HERO. 5. Updating my Links Resources. Cheers QM
Markdoc
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects Mine is simple - keep the 2005 pet project going. I started two games that year. One of them (victorian-era wierd occult science pulp campaign) died in the early stages. I may revive it in the future now I know a bunch of Girl Genius fans. The other one (a fairly standard Fantasy Hero game) is still running, though we only get to play about twice a month. Shouldn't be a problem though - at this speed, it's gonna take up 5 years to play through the story arc I have planned.... cheers, Mark
Susano
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects Finish Kazei 5 2.0 for Black Wyrm. Finish migrating all of the characters on my site to Hero Designer and complete the overhaul of the site via XHTML and CSS.

tkdguy
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects Probably nothing new. If I get a new gaming group (or rejoin my old one) I'd run one of the campaigns I've been working on, either the hard sci-fi game or the martial arts/film noir game. In the meantime, I'll continue to refine those campaigns. Still, I came up with a couple of campaign ideas on the fly. So I'll post my ideas here when they come up. Thia Halmades
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects * Finish my next article for Digitial HERO. * Work with Maya on Kamarthin. * Complete v.1.0 of HERO: Combat Evolved and turn the f'n thing into a PDF. Possibly write some fiction to go behind it, and flesh out the adventure I posted to the board as an official "forward" setting. * Begin the as-of-yet-untitled SH project I signed on for with Diamond Spear. As part of that deal, attend HEROCON 2008. * Keep Klaital busy with Pokemon HEROES * Undecided on: Update my spell blocks to include a 'classic' version and a UEP version, draft levels 1-5 for non-traditional casters (Rangers, Paladins, and polish off dr00dz) ... holy crap I have a lot to do. aylwin13
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects Champions: Work with The Doctor (our main GM) to finish the scenario that we're trying to write for DundraCon (and actually get to the damn convention ). Now we have a whole year to work on it, so we can get to DDC '09. Champions: Get GMing part-time for our group, so that The Doctor can play supers once in a while. General: Find at least one more player to round out our group. General: Work on more cardboard minis for our game (especially the PC ones). I have thousands of character image files. I just need to put them on the templates, print them, and cut & laminate them.
Psybolt
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects 1. Champions: Continue the Rainbow's End campaign on Hero Central 2. Other: Get my gaming group together to continue our Heroes Lost campaign (we've had 2 adventures, lots of fun, but tough to get everyone together) 3. Set up and run a couple of new Hero Central games... considering a Post Apoc. game and maybe a couple of off-shoots from the Rainbow's End campaign. Captain Obvious
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects In no particular order: Maybe finish that frontier fantasy deal I've been fiddling with ever since you started asking this question every year. Work on a weather generator that is simple enough to use on the fly and universal enough to work in a sci-fi setting. Finish up the post-apoc vehicle design system I started. Hammer out the intel compartmentalization system I started for Alien Wars. Write up Garganticleer, the kaiju chicken.
ghost-angel
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects Reviews: complete the Hero Plus reviews and all the Licensed products, and of course continue on with new releases. Werehawk
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects This past Fall, since all my campaigns are set in the same city in different time periods, I decided to christen it "The Liberty Metropolis Chronicles". The American League is my new Pulp Hero/Golden Age Heros campaign that debuted in October. The Crusaders is my Champions campaign and six new characters have been admited into Crusader Citadel. The Force of Nine is my GenCon campaign set one thousand years into the future with four new scenarios in the works. Plus, The Global Defense Initiative will be at Origins involving both the Sapphire Squad and Force Aquarius.
BobGreenwade
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects I'm continuing work on Space Wizards. In fact, I've done more work on that in the past couple of weeks than in the two to three months preceding. Also I'm a part of the Millennium Champions group, with (we hope) published adventures debuting this summer. (My series deals with the Warlord...) Write up Garganticleer' date=' the kaiju chicken.[/quote']And then we must pit him against Dairisu (the kaiju squirrel).
Spence
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects 1) Get a new group together for a regular Hero Game. 2) Start a new Champions set in a more light hearted world that is Golden/Silver Age. Influenced by Teen Champions and maybe PS238. I want to shift away from a gritty game to one with less need for KA’s and Uber defenses. 3) Write a Digital Hero article and get it accepted. 4) Write up an Anime based campaign or restart my Pulp Hero campaign. 5) Actually run a session at a con. Nolgroth
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects Mine 2008 goal is simple Keep the Gemini Ascendant campaign going.Try to solidify the campaign premise. It has been flighty and not so solid lately. Try really hard to (re)build the Gemini Ascendant web site with full updates since the campaign has been running. (Most importantly) Keep my players entertained. Some optional extras..... If I get half of a chance, I want to start building a Mundane Fantasy setting set in Hudson City. That is definitely a back burner item right now. The good news is that I'm getting a little burnt on video games so I may have more disposable time to work on role-playing stuff. And if I get even one tenth of a chance, I want to develop the Pulp Era Mundane Fantasy setting that I introduced in a one-off session (well three sessions) that serves as the background to the Hudson City campaign. This one doesn't even warrant a burner. It's just on a hot plate somewhere in the kitchen.
Matt Frisbee
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects Well, at least for the next few months, I'll be playtesting the set of generic RPG rules I finally finished writing over the Christmas season. For playtesting purposes, the groups here will be bouncing around the following settings: THE WAY OF GIANG HU -- A fantasy setting with an Ancient Chinese flavor (think "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"). Characters will be warriors, mystics and monks who obtain limited superhuman powers through their martial arts disciplines while battling evil people, organizations and monsters. SLEEPERS -- A survivalist setting (technically classed as historical) where the characters were volunteers testing prototype stasis chambers. Needless to say, something has gone horribly wrong and the characters are now five thousand years in the future on an earth that is practically alien to them. A FISTFUL OF SOLARIS -- An ultramodern setting where Earthlings have been forced to terraform planets and moons in the solar system as earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war. The characters are interplanetary drifters and soldiers of fortune who must take the jobs nobody else wants to do to make ends meet, while battling the demons of their past, criminal syndicates and interplanetary corporations. ARMAGGEDON: 1946 -- The characters are members of the OSS in a World War II where magic has been unleashed and the atom bomb was never developed. Now fantastic technology and terrifying creatures are being unleashed for the final battle for the fate of mankind. None of these will be extensively developed, but will probably incorporated into later rewrites of the rules. In deference to the people at Hero Games, I won't talk any more about it, because in all likelyhood it will wind up being a house system. GreyGuardian
Re: Your "2008" Pet Gaming Projects 1) Resume my Terran Empires campaign - It went on hiatus sometime in 2006. The crew of the Golden Fang is searching for their first officer. They've arrived at the right planet. They're nearly sure she's located in city ruins at the center of a wasteland. Automated air defenses prevent a closer approach using the ship. They have to cross hundred's of miles of wasteland by ground vehicle or on foot. Wasteland that's got live weapons left from the war, horrible mutant creatures (caused by Xenovore biological agents), and generally post apocalyptic "fun". 2) Start a second TE campaign for a different group. This group meets more regularly, but has been mostly limited to variations on dnd. The current game (run by someone else) is set in Ptolus and will probably end this June. 3) Resume my millenium city Champions game if I somehow can get it scheduled and find time to run it. In all cases I want to adopt some of the ideas from Robin Laws' gumshoe system and his Page XX articles. Specifically, if a character has the skill needed and the result of a failed die roll is not interesting, don't call for a die roll. Try to encourage more flavorful combat. Write up more of my own NPCs so I don't keep recycling viper combat agents, generic thugs, etc.
