BobGreenwade
Re: My little pointy friend I'm worried that might be abusive -- if I were to buy the OCV and DEX bonuses as part of the AI, Usable by Other, for instance -- since (I think) AIs are bought for 1 CP for 5 CPs in the AI, like vehicles. (I don't have a GM at present...) Those parts I wouldn't necessarily buy as part of the AI, but just as a part of the sword. (If it is bought through the AI, though, the character could always find himself in a situation where the AI decides that he doesn't need them.) JmOz
Re: My little pointy friend The Focus Limit reflects how easy it is to take the AI away from the Character. Your Laptop PC (OAF' date=' Fragile) is easier to deprive you of than your Wrist Computer (OIF) or Earplug Computer (IIF). Your Spirit Guide (AI with no Focus) can't be taken away at all through conventional means, and gets no limit.[/quote'] I understand the concept, but at the 1:5 points I would have a real problem with giving it a limitation on top of it. I mean for a OAF laptop (not fragile) it is 1:10 points...yikes the amount of non combat skills I could get for that As a tangent, I do like building computers as skill levels with a foci lim, works really well... pawsplay
Re: My little pointy friend I'd still say to buy the Intelligence as an AI with OAF' date=' but if your GM approves it this way, then fine.[/quote'] That opens up the possibility of someone Dispeling the intelligence, which makes little sense. Vestnik
Re: My little pointy friend Here's how Mike Surbrook built Stormbringer: http://surbrook.devermore.net/adaptationsbook/mm/stormbringer.html He is the pro. I see he bought everything except the stats through OAF. I see the rationale for stuff usable by other the item itself can't use (it can't wield itself), but why other powers/skills? You can't take them away from the sword itself -- it IS the focus. Would all skills be bought with the Focus limitation as well?

Fair enough. Personally, I deal with it by designing the available computers myself and keeping them limited. If a player wanted more (something that hasn't come up), I'd explain why I didn't permit it.
