CorPse
Found a couple of copies of the very rare Wings of the Valkyrie Champs module by Rob Bell that are in fantastic shape. (See the attached image... it's in shrinkwrap, so there's a little distortion in the image.) I'm probably going to keep a copy for myself, but what to do with the other one? I know there are many people out there that need Wings to complete their collections. I'm considering selling my "extra" on eBay, unless someone has a better idea. For those of you that don't know, this is the infamous Nazi/time travel adventure that wasn't allowed into Canada. If I've got my Hero history right it was recalled and has subsequently become very hard to find. (If you know more about the story, feel free to post it.) But anyway, let me know what you think. Hermit
Re: What to do with an extra copy of Wings of the Valkyrie? Ebay is probably your best bet. Or you can hold a contest for superheroic art or fiction and offer that as a prize. Or you can make them dance for you... dance fanboys, dance! Wait, that might be an abuse of power. Lord Liaden
Re: What to do with an extra copy of Wings of the Valkyrie? I guarantee you can make a nice bit of change out of selling it on eBay. Based on past sales I've seen, in the condition yours is you should expect it to go for around $40.00 minimum. BTW WotV was "allowed" into Canada; I bought a copy in Edmonton when it first came out. But the protest that eventually caused it to be withdrawn did start in Canada, I'm ashamed to say. Lord Liaden
Re: What to do with an extra copy of Wings of the Valkyrie? As I recall the story, a lobby group in Canada protested to the Hero Games distributor that the module was "anti-Semitic" and "justified the Holocaust" (complete misinterpretation IMO), which prompted Hero Games to recall WotV rather than deal with bad publicity. Others have posted here with more first hand information, but with the Search function currently very finicky I can't call up that material. Fair enough... you're pretty fantastic w/ the search tools. If you can't find it, then I'm not going to try... I bet someone will wander along with more of the story. Thanks for the info, though. Adventus
Re: What to do with an extra copy of Wings of the Valkyrie? I like the fact the hero on the cover is the same one from Target: Hero. Coincidence? Hmmm..... Viper is supposed to have been around since that time. Hmmm..... Something to think about.
Pattern Ghost
Re: What to do with an extra copy of Wings of the Valkyrie? Marksman's the guy on the cover. He's cooler than Defender. Even had his own comic. I think wowio.com has 'em.

Even had his own comic. I think wowio.com has 'em. Yup, Marksman was one of the PCs from Mark Macdonald's original Champions campaign, along with Flare, Rose, Icestar, and several other members of the Guardians superteam who were mentioned in (and sometimes appeared in illustrations from) the older Champs books. Marksman appeared on three other book covers that I can recall. The character on the cover of Target: Hero is wearing a different style costume, although it is also predominantly red. But w/ my wife in grad school, I think we currently qualify as a charity. (Just did our taxes, so I'm not kidding.) cP You could auction it off and donate the money to a charity. (Be a real hero.)
