Xavier Onassiss
Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Vox Mundi version 2. Like many comic book superheroes, Vox Mundi's powerset expands somewhat with each new version. In addition to the original's Voice Which Cannot Be Ignored, and the Most Common Super Power, she now has super-hair, super-abs, and a whomping-stick for the all-too frequent occasion when she encounters an opponent too thick-headed to do as she commands. Her minor powers include a low-level wind-control which is only used to keep her hair and cape out of the way, (for some reason it never affects her skirt) and a super-human level of disguise, which gives her the ability to conceal her identity with a mask covering less than half her face. Her secret ID is, of course, a stock broker. When she talks, people listen. I'll do a full Hero character sheet when I come up with an origin story.... I think I've got that *&^%$#@! cape right this time. More eye candy:

jack78
Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine That is an amazing set of characters, jack. I'm very impressed. I'd rep you, but "Must spread rep" and all that blah. Thak you Dusterboy! I like those old characters very much.... I love earth-2 I think DC should have used earth-2 as the basis for the new earth resulting from Crisis on Infinite Earths instead of earth-1. The Earth-2 characters were much more interesting, old and died, also were the original characters ... That's why I like to imagine what would have happened in this case. I have not posted a story about the characters, because they occur to me and other new approaches ... I like that Dr. Fate without human host, as in Kingdom Come ... Nabu alone ... A. The Spectre I have slightly changed the uniform, because I seemed to carry too much time running shorts out there ... but still the spirit of Jim Corrigan. A Obsidian I have removed the uniform. Now, when your body becomes coated with "shadow matter", under which bears his clothes. So much better, do not you think? Solomon Grundy has joined the team. He grabbed caariño Jade and became a sort of bodyguard. Think of it as a sort of half-clever butler ... Jade is now Green Lantern. Not very well what happened to Alan Scott, but I prefer to think he is still alive ... Brainwave (who, with those silver temples, I see resemblance to Sean Penn ...) has removed the "Jr.". Jad is the husband of ... sorry, Green Lantern. Aquaman is the former Aqualad, Garth, who has grown a beard. Arthur is too busy reigning in the city of Atlantis ... and Garth has taken his place as a hero in the world of air. Flash is Bart Allen, who was found and raised by Jay Garrick, the original Flash. Sandman is Sandy Hawkins, with a uniform based on Jack Kirby Sandman. Their powers are basically the same character today: premonitory dreams and ability to turn your body into sand, to be a human being silicon. Atom is the former Nuklon, which has cut the crest of the Mohicans and adopted the name of his godfather, retired .. Robin ... well ... Dick would have if he were about 70, so ... 'm not sure what to do ... The Huntress is still the daughter of the Bat-Man and Catwoman, Helena Wayne. I have tried to modernize his uniform without noticing too much on the contemporary version. Wildcat is Yolanda Montez, with feline powers. Black Canary is the daughter of Green Arrow and Black Canary II (Dinah Lance) and granddaughter of the original Black Canary (Dinah Drake). His costume is similar to the JLA Black Canary (Giffen). It's a girl, young and crazy ... Red Arrow is the former sidekick of Green Arrow, Speedy (or Arsenal) that has grown up. His costume is similar to Kingdom come, but with hood (rather than Robin Hood hat.) Powerwoman powergirl is now, as in Kingdom come (too). Star Spangled Kid, Skyman and now finally, Starman ... The type of red, blue and white is none other than Sylvester Penberton, possessing the powers of the original Starman, only that instead of having a stick of gravity, has a belt of gravity. The same powers, but with a more American style, right? Johnni Thunder is a detective who can transform into a creature of electricity ... Fury is the daughter of Wonder Woman. His mother now lives in Mount Olympus with her husband Steve Trevor. Fury is married to Silver Scarab (who never returned evil or became sandman or anything ...). Hourman is the son of the original Hourman. I tried to do something original based on the uniform of the original character, mixing it with at first took his son ... and with some "Kingdom Come " ... and why not? Dr. Midnite is the same (obviously still alive ...) I've just changed the lunar symbol and the sleeves of the uniform. Finally, Northwind. I like the evolution to a more "feitheran" ... mix of its original look with that of, again, Kingdom come ... I hope you like them and write me about it. I have yet to return to the characters of The Royal Guard, with new additions and more information about them. I hope you also like ... Greetings! DusterBoy
Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Let me guess. . . you're a big Kingdom Come fan? It is awesome, by the way. (A nitpick - you need to check your gender pronouns - you refer to female characters as "him" and "it", when it should be "she") Other than that, you;ve got some terrific ideas. Tom
Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Playing around trying to match a fellow player's description of his character's armor... His armor was stylized after knights of old, with upturned points like winglets and hard-edged joints, as well as a face-plate that swept out and down to the mouth like a knight's helm. Shoulder guards and a chest plate broadened his frame, and the armor's 'gloves' were visibly large, fanning out at the elbow and adorned with extra guarded plate. He would never be mistaken as such, though. For all that was reminiscent, intentionally stylized, there was more that fit a more modern look. Sleek edges, tightly fitting plates, and an almost muscular, organic feel to the metal arms and legs. Yet tough edges, lines and breaks, emphasized the unnaturalness of the armored body, merging and blending it with the hard-edged exterior. It's silvery shine was emphasized with white edging and glowing lines. Round ports at shoulders, arms, sides, and back glowed with an intense white light, like the harshness of a LED flashlight. The main question being -- does it work better with silver/grey or silver/gold?
