Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

The 2011 version has a new interface -- and includes English labeling...

Here is an update of one of my LE game's heroes along with the previous version...

Scion

(this is the closest to his original look, if the player goes with one of the other tweaks I did I'll put that up as well)

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

Now I only need to know one more thing:

How do I give a hero Grey Skin color (or generally make grey in there). Making a white bodypart and placing a partially transparent, black in a layer before it?

Don't trust the color chart, it's not always right. You can do various shades of grey -- finding them can be a matter of hunt and search though. Arrow over the options and watch the selection square on the interface. Dk Grey is Column 15, Row 3. There are lighter greys at Col 4, Row 10 and Col 11, Row 11.

Thanks for the tip. After some thinkering I found out that there seems to be 14 shades of grey (+ black, + white). They all are on color codes that are simple 6 times the same hexadecimal digit:

#aaaaaa

#333333

#666666

#999999

and so on...

(from left to right: Gale, Aquatic, Scion, Soldier of Christ)

*note: Scion went with one of the alternate versions from what I posted a couple of pages back*

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

Here's Bootlegger, a teen super-speedster from Confederate World:

[ATTACH=CONFIG]39420[/ATTACH]

In addition to his ability to run at super-speed, he also possesses the ability to

know where everything in his vicinity is, no matter how fast he may be moving

at the time. This has enabled him to develop a maneuver he calls the "Bootleg-

ger Reverse", which he uses against enemy speedsters (preferably an annoying

Yankee speedster, whenever possible). The first part of the maneuver involves

him attempting to sucker an enemy speedster into chasing him -- while he him-

self is running backwards.

At the same time as he's running backwards, Bootlegger keeps up a steady line

of insults and taunts directed at his pursuer; he does this to make his enemy

angry enough to become careless and focus his attention upon catching Bootleg-

ger. Once Bootlegger sees that his pursuer has stopped paying attention to his

surroundings, he leads him towards a wall or other solid object; at precisely the

right moment, he suddenly stops and runs in the opposite direction. When per-

fectly executed, the end result of the "Bootlegger Reverse" is an enemy speed-

ster making a very rapid -- and up-close and very painful -- acquaintance with

a solid wall.

Of course, this only works if the other speedster doesn't have the super-speed

ability to phase through the wall...

Changed that' date=' but I don't see any difference between using the IMG-tags or not using them. But this could be my browser (Firefox), autodetecting and formating links.[/quote']

Dunno. Typically I don't upload images to the Heroboards (I don't want to run out of room for other things). Instead I upload images to my Photobucket account, which gives me the image tags as well as the URL. Works really well, IMHO.
