Pariah
There's a place locally that makes a pizza they call Spudelicious. It has slices of potato, bacon, sour cream, cheese, the like. Its a baked potato pizza. I wonder where that would fit on the chart.
Cygnia
I'm just trying to figure out "New York Style" cheese vs regular cheese...
Ternaugh
"New York Style" tends to be a hand-tossed pizza a larger, flatter slice. It's typically eaten by folding the pizza slice along the long axis, as there's very little structure to keep it from collapsing otherwise. Pariah
If having pineapple on pizza is wrong, I don't wanna be right. Grailknight, rravenwood and Lawnmower Boy
Ragitsu
Does anyone here enjoy chicken as a pizza topping? In my experience, if you dial back the quantity of cheese, switch to a white cheese and/or add tiny diced bits of (sun-dried?) tomato, it can be surprisingly satisfying. Cygnia
Only if it's dark meat. White meat tends to get overcooked too much for my tastes.
Pariah
Lady P makes a delicious BBQ chicken pizza. Grilled chicken, red onions, and bell pepper as the toppings, with a cheddar/mozzarella cheese mix and barbecue sauce instead of marinara. (You can also put pineapple on it, if you're into that kind of thing.)

Either way, a pre-bake dusting of pesto wouldn't go amiss. Should marination be an option...all the better. 7 minutes ago, Pariah said: Lady P makes a delicious BBQ chicken pizza. It ends up on our pizzas (though, I've made a roasted tomato sauce too that fits the bill).

Also "New York style" uses a much more "watery" base, so the toppings are less adhered to the crust....
Cancer
Me, I wonder where a stuffed deep-dish spinach pizza puts me.
Cancer
Made something this evening I hadn't made in a long time. It is fast and convenient, and despite its ... blandness? ... it seemed to have been a favorite of my father's, I think because they seemed to have had it relatively often when he was in his elementary school years (he was born in 1928, so that was the depths of the Great Depression). I call it Depression Style Beans, though Dad simply called it kidney beans. Dice half an onion. Maybe add a bit of garlic powder, no more than half a teaspoon. Saute that with some (doesn't take much; tonight I used half a pound plus) ground beef in a skillet. When onion is soft and meat is mostly browned, add three or four cans of dark red kidney beans. Bring to a simmer, then cover and simmer for about half an hour. Best served over bread, especially stale bread. My wife would, of course, add a number of other seasonings, but she finds the purplish grey color offputting, which is why I don't make it often.
