DrDestiny
Re: in the spirit of christmas! This is just a Work-in-Progress. I don't really do too many supers now, and I thought I should get back into practice. As part of that, I've started a sketch of the Champions character Sapphire. Me being me, and the character being a bit of a fashionista, I have fiddled with the outfit slightly. Colours (and more detailed inking) to come. DrDestiny
Re: in the spirit of christmas! This one is a private commission of a character from the boards of The Secret World, the upcoming MMO game. The character's name is Kimberlin Moon, her creator is GhostHack, and the rather brilliant story, written by GhostHack and well worth a read is here: http://www.darkdemonscrygaia.com/showthread.php?t=5526

DrDestiny
Re: in the spirit of christmas! Not a shy girl is she? I love her tattoos' date=' but [i']what[/i] is that cavalry sabre doing there? Well, from her character description: "Weapons and Gear/Equipment: A Savage 95 bored for the 250-3000, cut down like a carbine with a quick release stock. It's lever gun with a rotary magazine, rather than a tube or box, small enough to hide under a coat, and "quick enough to catch a wolf on the run". Primarily worn across her back in a large map case. A Kahr 40 compact semi-automatic pistol. A heavily modified Mauser c96. Affectionately called her "Han Solo gun", Kim restructured the Shansi Type 17 variant on the C96 to fire 410 bore shotgun shells instead of its original 45 auto colt round. She carries a 2 foot long boarding cutlass at her hip, with a single bar guard in place of the usual bell. Lastly, she usually has several ceramic daggers, of her own design, on her person. The blades are pressed out of a hybrid zirconia compound that utilized silver dust. the 'alloy' makes the blades brittle, but they hold a razor edge and dont set off traditional metal detectors." I thought just showing the cutlass was probably enough, after all, the poor lass has just gotten up.
DusterBoy
Re: in the spirit of christmas! I take it the Savage 95 has been adapted to take the .250-3000 cartridge, since the first rifle specifically designed for it was the Savage 99? DrDestiny
Re: in the spirit of christmas! This isn't Champions related I'm afraid, but I hope you'll forgive me this indulgence as found it very exciting. This photo was taken yesterday, and is of the mail writer Ian Struckhoff revieved, just in time for his trip to New York Comic Con, where he has a table in Artist's Alley. Black Label Comics' Anthology #1 (blue cover art by me!) will be one of the books there, featuring not only an 8-page stip by me, but also work from proper artists like Craig Yeung (Mighty Avengers), Nikki Cook (DMZ), Blair Shedd (Doctor Who) and Daniel Gover Azure) amongst others. DusterBoy
Re: in the spirit of christmas! You are a proper artist, Doc D. At least, I think so and I'm sure there are others here who would agree with me. PS: I know your Secret Identity, Mr Wyke.

Haven Walkur
Re: in the spirit of christmas! Hah, I actually tracked him down by his handle on deviantART! And I concur with DusterBoy; Dr. Dee, you are indeed a 'proper artist' -- and what's more, you are an extremely talented and creative artist, with a broad understanding of style, media and mood...and I like your work. A lot.
DusterBoy
Re: in the spirit of christmas! Haven - not to nit-pick about Incirinna, but I think 190 lbs is too much, even if she is built like a busty tennis player. Serena Williams is 161 lbs and Lindsay Davenport is 176 lbs, and they're both over 6' tall and they both have very respectable busts. (But I really do like her. Half cute blonde, half Thing From the Dungeon Dimensions, what's not to like?)

Silver Surfer, WiP Pencil / Illustrator (a bit) / Photoshop (a lot) Background from NASA'a Hubble library. Just playing about with my favorite superhero, and one I think my style's most suited to, in that he's not blown up to inhuman dimensions! This is a very small version, larger one's on my devArt page. Obviously the Silver Surfer is © Marvel Comics
