The scion of an Ifreet, powerful beings from the Elemental Plane of Fire, he was a slave of the Baron Thursar. Thursar was a fan of gladiator games and Ariax was one of his favorites. Ariax spent much of his early adult life battling monsters, scores of soldiers, wizards of varying power. It was hard sometimes to make the opponents seem threatening to him.

Ariax bristled under the Baron's yoke but a powerful artifact, the Ring of Fyre held him at bay. While the Baron wore it he could not resist the pathetic mortal's commands. Ariax grew increasingly angry at his situation and eventually looked to change his situation. The power to do that came with another warrior. The Baron had become obsessed with creating a stable of powerful warriors. Using bounty hunters, and adventurers, he brought many strange beings to his domain to entertain himself and wealthy patrons. The Prince, as he was dubbed, was a powerful fighter in his own right. A greater Earth Elemental and literally the crown prince of the one of the Elemental Plane of Earth's varied domains, the Prince was everything Ariax aspired to be. He was noble, honorable in word and deed and seemingly undefeatable. The two clashed over and over. Neither could really claim absolute victory. Another powerful gladiator, a living golem dubbed the Ironclad, added to the mix. The Baron was thrilled at his luck. Though the two hulking warriors could give Thone a fight, in truth it was the ring that held him back. The Baron sought more and more powerful warriors to draw greater and wealthier audiences. One of these, a woman who was a priestess of the K'Lia the Scporian, Goddess of Assassins; though seemingly mortal and human, she possessed nearly inhuman agility and skill. She railed against her captivity more than even Ariax Thone, but was held in check by the idea that should she seek to escape or harm the Baron it would be Thone who hunted her down and destroyed her.

Ariax Thone saw her as his ticket to freedom. He imparted with her the secrets of the Baron's control and his desire for freedom. The very next day, the woman dubbed Scorpia executed a single attack that changed the world. She intentionally missed her target (Thone) and her blade sliced the ring finger off Baron Thursar's hand. Once the ring's power was no longer controlling his terrible power, Thone slew the Baron and a massive riot occured.

In a few days the chaos ended and Ariax Thone, the second Baron Ontario, was crowned. Personality/Motivation: Ariax Thone loves two things, his freedom and combat. To this end, he's bent on world conquest. If he rules all the world, none can attempt to command him, and in the taking of the world, he'll get to battle the greatest beings of his day. Quote: "I am not without mercy; if you can defeat me you shall go free. "

Powers/Tactics: Though his command of fire is without peer, Baron Thone is, at his heart, an in your face fighter. He uses weapons and his fists without even thinking about his flame command. These tactics change quickly if he finds himself confronting a number of powerful opponents. Ariax Thone is a deulist at heart though and loves to challenge those he considers to be "of equal footing" he will often eschew his flame command on these fights unless his foe 'cheats' by their ability to stand his phyisical assault. Though his honor means much to him, the desire for victory can overwhelm him and he may take advantages he'd promised he wouldn't. Campaign Use: Very powerful world conquerer with a small barony, an army, and alot of personal power. Appearance: Tall and handsome, Ariax appears as a golden skinned, over muscled elf. He has long flame red hair and red eyes. He wears red and gold armor made from the hide of a red dragon. He carries a finely crafted greatsword (that he weilds one handed) and a shield with his standard, a rising phoenix. He is oft called Baron Thone the Firewing.
