You are using antiquated equipment and you have no experience using that antiquated equipment. That is not the point. How bad are they? What are the uncertainties? Do your results make sense given how well you can do with your sucky technique? That is the point. Show your uncertainties -- after you have figured out what those are -- and accept those limitations, and then ask, does the physics work within my ability to test it?
