Which makes me suspect more standard systems either would not work, or would be detectable by the Predator - Gary Busey's team certainly had the funding for any sort of sensors they needed, so why go with something that gave a vague outline (and doesn't look like it worked in realtime - the shots we see are clearly both slowed down and delayed - likely requiring a few seconds delay simply for processing) unless you had nothing else that worked? However, the radioactive dust they spread inside the warehouse looked to be effective - post exposure, the Predator never even attempts to engage his camouflage. Haven't had much experience with government procurement, I see.
